I'd sworn off of this show after the last season was slow, and had too many manipulative plot points. But i've been convinced to watch on Sunday by the future Mrs. Tim, so here we are.
Based on the trailer released earlier this year, this season will be where they make the 2 year leap ahead, based on Rick's beard. We'll see tho, may just be a flashback or dream sequence.

I read that there may be a double timeline. The present (the war) and a future timeline in which someone (Rick or Carl, maybe) is telling the story.

Hmm... All Out War right from the comics, this is. I like the idea of telling the story from two different timelines. That will be neat. I just hope they finish that act of the comics by the end of the season. I want the show to survive long enough to see the Whisperers . Character arcs I'm interested in most: Dwight Eugene Morgan Maggie Dead pool: Gabriel Tara Sasha Carol (Random guesses not based on anything.) |

I like the Dwight arc as well, but I think you could also add him to the deadpool.

I just saw a banner ad for this show that had a guy holding a sword and then just a huge tiger superimposed on top of that, wtf is happening here?
I have never watched this show FTR.

I've been busy every Sunday night since the new season started and haven't taken the time to catch up, but looking at the RT scores, this season is the rockiest for them yet. Of the 3 episodes so far, 2 of them are rotten, which has never happened for the series. I don't know what happens but I don't find this surprising.

Too little too late for me. I haven't watched any this season but people keep telling me about it. This should have happened seasons ago but now it just seems like a deliberate response to the backlash of last seasons poorly handled Lucille double bashing.

Not really surprising. It's been going downhill for awhile now. It wouldn't surprise me if it got the can after 2 more seasons. Ratings and critical adoration have dipped tremendously.

I actually liked the sad Coral intro and the Morgan/Carol tag team quite a bit. Probably shouldn't have clicked Mookie's spoiler. That new show sounds awful.

I continue to read summaries of the show just to see if it pulls itself back to the glory days. It has not so far. Knew they wouldn't kill off Negan.

I feel like the Whisperers introduction needs to be a real slow burn over the course of at least half a season. It has the potential to be actually scary on a horror show. They'll fuck it up, though. Negan was more or less a neutered version of his comic counterpart, imho.
