I grew impatient waiting for Lil Baby to come out so I bailed and missed the dancers.
Enjoying the beginning of this Metallica set.

I didn't notice this when we saw them back in 2017, but it's funny that the "amps" on stage are just props. They're just unmic'd speaker cabinets with no amplifier heads. Plus they don't even bother with the charade of putting a bass stack up there.
Also did not expect to hear "Enter Sandman" (well) before the end of the encore!

They are plugged in but not used for house sound. They used to have more and have slowly whittled it down to those four. I think two are James and two are Kirks.

Watched 45 minutes of Metallica, it was pretty good. Starting with 'Whiplash' and 'Creeping Death' - COOL! I never listened to St. Anger so I had never heard 'Dirty Window', it wasn't bad.

Kind of wanted to check out Billy Strings last night, but I do not have Hulu access. Also looked into his tour and of course his Colorado dates are sold out again.

I made it through half of the St. Anger song before deciding to head to bed. Seems like the rest of the setlist ripped, though.
For today, I think the only sets I'm interested in on the stream are RCBF and Tinashe?

Also looked into his tour and of course his Colorado dates are sold out again. the two Colorado dates he has are his own little music festival. I think it's pretty low capacity, sold out immediately he tours Colorado a lot, he's been through at least 3 separate times in the last year not counting the upcoming one and multi-night stands each time. I think a Red Rocks run is going to become a yearly tradition for him

I think it's fair to say any Colorado date is going to be a pretty instant sellout going forward.

Oh yeah I've noticed - I see the show pop up and it's sold out that day, so I guess I'm just not going to see the dude live haha

Alady got me into a Facebook group for tickets for the sold out Madison show that ended up working out (sans the fact that like 25 minutes after I bought the ticket I had something come up that prevented me from going). Might be worth checking out, though I know you deleted a while ago

Yeah my only FB access is for work purposes and I do not have any friends on that account - I'll be suspicious as hell if I jumped into a ticket group like that.

The Green Day set has been very fun. We tried a bit of the J-Hope set and, uh, were not into it

The audio was awful at the beginning of the Green Day set (at least on my stream) but they figured it out after a few songs. Very entertaining, but there's a frustrating lack of wide shots so it's hard to appreciate the light show and they're not capturing any of the pyro. Holy shit, Billy Joe just gave a shout out to McGregor's. Pretty sure they shut down before (almost) any of the Chicago peeps were born, but I bet nanatod and/or ten15 had occasion to venture out to Elmhurst for a show there at some point.

Caught the last song and a half from Maneskin with fully boobage.
Beach Bunny was very good! Wish they'd streamed more than a half hour.
Charli XCX was fine, but got old pretty quick with just two dancers and no one else on stage supporting her.
Listened to about four Pornos for Pyros songs - incredibly shitty/boring. Turned it off after Perry's feeble attempt to say something coherent about the erosion of women's rights.

Was there an intro to Green Day on the Hulu stream where they interviewed people in the crowd? I might have been in it.

Was there an intro to Green Day on the Hulu stream where they interviewed people in the crowd? I might have been in it. On the rail. The emcee gal introduced a kid who had lined up at 5am with his Dad, and rushed in to get a spot as soon as they opened. I cooked pasta and watched the Green Day set, it was enjoyable. They have a lot of hits, I hadn't really thought about that. I LOL'd at the "sit around and watch the phone but no one's texting" line. The "what's your name?" "Abby." "AH-BEE, AH-BEE, AH-BEE" moment was sweet. I watched the last few Porno For Pyros songs, and then The Kid Laroi came on and Holy Shit that was awful, I shut it off after one minute. So tired of rappers and hype men saying 'MAKE SOME FUCKIN NOISE LOLLAPALOOZAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!' Watched a minute of J-Hope as well, not my thing.

So tired of rappers and hype men saying 'MAKE SOME FUCKIN NOISE LOLLAPALOOZAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!’ I feel like most bands I saw on the stream this weekend were using that (not just hip-hop artists). Waiting for it to fall out of fashion along with “everyone get low” and “left side vs right side” now that white people have ruined it.
