I still don't know who she is, but the line to get in stretched down Wabash [Reggie's is on State]. It looked like Taylor Swift Mach 2. I did notice some new condos, and a Chase Bank branch that had been built in the area since we were last at Reggies for Alabama Shakes xrt promotional show in 2012, and I noticed the new Chinatown public library that replaced the old one. |

It's not.
The north right side is VIP and the south left side is VIP.
Neither stages are split evenly in half and fortunately more stage is given to the non vip side.
Though the north side is definitely more favorable for non vip than south side.

South side VIP looks massive when I freeze a shot from Susan Archives. Looks like it goes all the way back to the sound desk?
And there are two fences on the VIP side that run parallel to the stage. One is “the rail”, then there’s another maybe… 15-20 yards back? Is that Super VIP/Regular VIP?

Sound was absolutely abysmal for the first half of that Kendrick set. Would randomly get insanely quiet at seemingly random points and it didn’t get better based on where you were standing. Absolutely brutal. Set itself was pretty good and the sound did get better but it extremely sucks that I can hear fucking Perry’s all the way at the grove but I can’t hear the #1 headliner at their own stage

Sorry to hear about the sound issues at Kendrick. Pretty much everything I saw today was v good. Sudan Archives, Fred, Hemlock Springs and Tems we're highlights in addition to 1975

Today's thoughts: - I've noticed a large increase in airplane bottles of liquor (with way too much fireball) on the ground. Guess this is the prefered way to sneak in booze now.
- Love or hate their music, Thirty Seconds To Mars can put on a rock show. Fire. Fireworks. Smoke. Jared Leto jumping off the top of the stage. Jared Leto singing from on top of the sound booth. Bringing fans on stage. It was a spectacle.
- Tom Delonge was in the crowd watching the 1975 and Matt Healy ran out and gave him a hug mid-song.
- Not sure why but Knocked Loose only played 40-45 minutes. The crowd was not happy with this.

Just to jump in here, totally agree about 30 Seconds to Mars. It very much exceeded my expectations. And, thanks to Kendrick Lamar coming on late, I almost missed the entire Knocked Loose set. I still got the see 3 songs, but then they ended early. I was thinking they were going to do an encore, but...nope. And, the little bit I saw of Fred Again was good, but that crowd was so bad. |

It’s kind of astonishing how much people are complaining about stuff like teens linking their arms and pushing through a crowd as if that’s a new phenomenon for this fest or something. Really the only bullshit I’ve experienced this weekend is the VIP expansion and the Kendrick sound issues. |

Yesterday was fun. Ate some animal fries from stop along and a hot chicken sandwich from budlong. Fred Again was my favorite set of the day. Lot of people saying the sound was low for him but I thought it was fine. Bosma explained the Kendrick ordeal well enough nothing to really add on that. Despite increasing capacity it doesn't feel anymore packed or crowded than usual imo.

Also, I'm not there this year because 80% of the lineup is stuff I've never heard of. Am I out of touch or is it the children who are wrong?
