Just remember, it's always good to be sure to have one conflict free night at least.

The last time I remember Lumineers playing was the year Mumford Headlined in 2013 when they only were known for Ho Hey.. I mean, there's only so many times you can avoid the bullet in Russian Roulette

A kid I went to HS with was forced to play Russian roulette at his 18th birthday party. He didn’t play by the rules, so a dude shot and killed him.

The only saving grace in my mind is that those dates don’t start until a couple weeks after the fest and it also seems like they aren’t playing places they played last year. Still worth keeping an eye on I guess

Would be hilarious if The Lumineers are the top 4 " rock" headliner this year Is that better or worse than a Chili Peppers fivepeat?

So much worse and it's not even close. At least John is back

Yeah, I saw the chili peppers last year and thought it was a pretty decent and fun show. Lumineers would be 1000 times worse.

Nice that GA at least has a portion of the rail now.

Nice that GA at least has a portion of the rail now. Imagine watching this festival have empty VIP space after empty VIP space in front of the stages and thinking "yeah, let's take 85% of the front of the stage and make people pay for it. This is so dumb and they can get fucked.

Seems like an especially bad choice with this bit of info:
Those viewing decks were packed because people didn't want to leave VIP and their bars and free drinks. Even though it is much closer it seems like a downgrade.

Nice that GA at least has a portion of the rail now. They always did on the whole right side, at least a handful of years ago when I was last on the rail for a set. This is making it look like a downgrade in space though I wouldn’t immediately assume it’s to scale

VIP hasn't had food and drinks included for years now. This definitely seems like an upgrade for that experience since they still have access to the shade by the cabanas. I always looked at everyone packed in the viewing platform during the headliners and thought it looked miserable.
Sucks for everyone else. Especially for the early acts when nobody is there and you have to be farther away with a ton of open space in front of the stage.

I dont think this to scale. It would be a safety hazard to have such a small rail area.

Was there a platinum viewing area at the side stages before? I don't remember that.

Excited to see Sylvan Esso play from the 10 feet of rail at the Coinbase stage this year.
Heading over to the Lockheed Martin stage to see The National play right after will be a trek I don't look forward to.

It warms my heart to see Coinbase is sponsoring a stage at a music festival while its credit ratings get downgraded further into junk status.

Was there a platinum viewing area at the side stages before? I don't remember that. There was for the Shell/Tito's (along the left ramp/side stage) and Lakeshore (on the right side). I have had generous platinum holders pass me free alcohol at the Lakeshore one in the past. The Grove had a Discord sponsored private area and side stage access last year (which normal VIP and Platinum did not qualify for), but not sure what's been typical in prior years.
