I don't know, a November rain sounds pretty refreshing right about now.

what if i said sigur ros is dreadful. I think this would have qualified as hot when they were more popular but I’m not sure about now.

For music hot takes, I think I’ve probably alluded to this before but IDLES is one of the dumbest active bands right now. Devoid of absolutely anything interesting and they try to act like they have some kind of ideology but it’s just like “oi respect women and don’t kill yourself” which doesn’t really qualify as coherent ideology anymore. I thought maybe I was missing something by listening to them on album but their lolla 2019 set was so dreadfully boring/lame that I ended up seeing all of Japanese Breakfast which was a great set and turned me into a much bigger fan.

I could go the rest of my life without hearing another Michael Jackson song on the radio, in public, etc.

I could go the rest of my life without hearing another Michael Jackson song on the radio, in public, etc. Personally, I would not take that as a 'hot take.'

I could go the rest of my life without hearing another Michael Jackson song on the radio, in public, etc. Because of the music or because of the person? I feel like "the person" answer would not be a hot take, necessarily. But honestly, it's cause of the music. His big songs have just never done anything for me. They seem, idk, empty. Sure they're fun dance songs and what not, but - to make the lazy, obvious comparison - they lack the substance and personality that you'd find in any given Prince song of that era.

Who had the take that most bands don't need to release new albums after their third because they don't have anything interesting to say or whatever after that and get stale? I think about that every so often, finding myself agreeing more than I disagree

somewhat ironically, the other thread i considered posting was "what song do you objectively like, but never need to hear again" and my answers would probably be "learn to fly" by foo fighters and "kiss" by prince

I’m hearing them off in the distance. I’m going to Albany this weekend so all is good in the world i would rather hear planes go zoom zoom than spend a weekend in albany.

BBHOF + wilco and hiking are significantly better than albany. enjoy!
i stand by my original statement that fast planes overhead are better than albany on its own.
