Doing the deep dive on the lineup, and noticing a relative abundance of British rock bands, no ska, and very little hip-hop/rap

Rival Schools and Free Throw are also good bands.
Edit: And LS Dunes is a supergroup of sorts that should be up my alley, but I haven’t listened to them yet.

Fake Fighters thing is hilarious. I have all the love & respect in the world for Taylor Hawkins, but the Foo Fighters are and always will be Dave's project and baby.

I’ve seen 7 bands on this lineup that nana hasn’t? 🤯 P funk at the china club was in 1993, and I didn't go out of my way to see NYC hardcore back then, so earth crisis, snapcase, and the crass will have to wait until riot fest this yr for me to catch them live.

They lean a little darker / more industrial than the others, and the singer actually sings! Enter Shikari was dubstep-adjacent back in the day, but idk what they are now. Some dude in my high school named his cat after them. He's a doctor now.

I have to think that getting sprayed with Faygo and then having to endure the rest of the day feeling sticky and possibly attracting insects isn't the best experience. But if ICP ends up playing late in the day, it's probably fine.
Also, everyone go see Quasi.

Okay, is that Sleep and Token, or is there a band called Sleep Token? i'd never heard of them until a month or so ago when they announced an okc show at a 1000-cap venue, and it sold out so quick and tix are going for $200 on stubhub. kinda like a 2nd-tier ghost i guess?

Are we likely to see a big Juggalo influx on ICP day? I think the Gathering is still happening this year, but I don't have much concept of how that fanbase travels. The 23rd annual ‘Gathering Of The Juggalos‘ festival has been booked to run from July 05th through to July 09th at Legend Valley in Thornville, OH. The infamous Insane Clown Posse-backed event will pay homage to the group’s past ‘Wicked Clowns From Outer Space Tour‘ and feature a two-part set that will recreate that 1999 trek and more.

Their record Featuring "Birds" is one of my favorites from the late 90s. Tremendous sad-sack songs from the other half of Heatmiser + Janet Weiss on the drums? Awesome.

I used to hang out with / buy [redacted] off of a dude who was a huge ICP guy back in high school, so if they play only stuff from about 2002 and earlier I'm going to know quite a bit of the material. Honestly more excited to see them then I would admit to most folks. Still doubt I'll be close enough to get soaked with Faygo. The bees are going to have a field day.

That System Seltzer that Riot Pop is sourced by has a Lemon-Lime flavor now, so I'm betting that's the new flavor.
