I guess someone was strangled with a pashmina at the fest yesterday and now they aren’t allowed. Can’t wait for the fest to ban belts next

I was bored during Faye Webster's set, so I sat down and read the entire "shit talkin'" thread (which was surprising that I had enough signal to do so)

if the Sunday tickets go somewhat below $100 on the ticket broker sites (they're around $113 right now), I may go tomorrow, by going to one of the downtown broker locations and buying a wristband then and there.
if so, see you at SIR.

Saw a bit of Brandon flowers’ face on the big screen going down JBDSLSD to Thalia so that’s my #lolla experience

Tix are still over $100 at what seems like every single ticket broker site, so I don't even have to consider how hot and humid it's going to be in Grant Park today.

stayed on the living room couch all day in the air conditioning. checking the reader listings saw that [lollapalooza affiliated] Peter Distefano is playing an early (7 pm) show at the Hideout for $15, so that will be my Lolla set for the weekend, and it will end early enough so I don't have to worry about tomorrow's early work day.

Kaitlin Butts by far best set of the day imo. Blink 182 was good enough lol. Definitely by no means a great live band but they have the tunes for a big fest and they're probably one of the bands I've listened to the longest but somehow never cared enough to see so.
The Killers are probably the most dependable festival headliner there is. They were great but I wish we got more of their knockoff War on Drugs songs.

I'm sure I'll compile my thoughts later, but what I did find amusing this morning is that I spent at least a half hour each night watching the headliners at the Grove stage (Daði Freyr, In This Moment, Yoasobi and Ben Böhmer) and had a great time doing so

While the lineup wasn't the greatest this year I don't really have many complaints about how the fest is run. The only time I ever had to wait for a bathroom was before Chappell Roan. I never really had to wait in any food line. Food lines did exist but it was easy enough to go to the next bank of food stalls or even just a few vendors over and find no line or a very short line. Security and entrance lines were no existent every time I entered. The vendor experience lines could get way out of hand but I think that is more of a vendor issue than a Lolla issue. The band merch line was also crazy but I think the last time I bought band merch at Lolla was Metallica in 2015? As to the line-up, I did have some pretty big mid-afternoon gaps (Mrs FiveHole took an hour+ long nap one day), but I'm also not their target demo. I mostly found plenty of music I was interested in hearing/seeing every day and had a pretty good time despite the oppressive heat and humidity. Next year we'll likely have to buy a ticket for Sidekick Fivehole which might change the calculous on attendance, but I've got an 18 year streak of not missing a day (2006-2024 with no fest in 2020) so I'd hate to see that end.

The lulls and heat were both severe enough that I left to go see Trap at the AMC Dine-In between Vince Staples and Blink 182 yesterday. This is also the first Lollapalooza ever where there are multiple headliners whose music I've never knowingly heard a note of.

Kaitlin Butts by far best set of the day imo. I was wondering if anyone from the board would catch her set. Glad to hear it was a good one; I’m supposed to see her Wednesday.

I walk through this building a bunch of times in a week in order to go to court, and I forgot that this was there (never been).

All I got this year is that I'm glad the weather held up Thursday for everyone attending Chappell and the webcast really was donky ass most of the time. The only time the sound felt remotely balanced was the end of Vince Staples. The Roo stuff I watched a few months ago live was fine so I don't think its a Hulu thing.
Also, one interviewer asked Teddy Swims (who wore a Bulls 69 jersey so I assume he sucks on principle) how he felt playing the same fest as the Butthole Surfers did and I legit almost threw my remote at my teevee
