Was wondering if they might be in play this year given they claim to have a new album ready. Seem like a lock for either Lolla or Pitchfork.
Eric Church's routing is also very suspicious and Huston talked about wanting to finally try a country headliner soon during his 2023 AMA.
My current guess:
Blink 182/SZA/The Killers/Eric Church Hozier/Vampire Weekend/Justice/Peso Pluma
Figure there's another significant rock or mainstream pop act in the mix that would fall anywhere in the 1-4 spot, but can't quite figure out who would be in contention. The Killers are my placeholder for now, and likely the safe bet.

Eric Church is playing Country Thunder in Twin Lakes two weeks before. I wouldn't be surprised by a country act, but I doubt it would be him.

Eric Church is playing Country Thunder in Twin Lakes two weeks before. I wouldn't be surprised by a country act, but I doubt it would be him. I kind of looked through this after seeing that the booking guy said he wanted to book a country headliner. Eric Church was my best guess and Cody Jinks as a sub into him as kind of a combo would make a lot of sense I think. But I didn't realize he was playing right by there so maybe not Childers, Zach Bryan, and Chris Stapleton all have Chicago dates. I do think there's a solid chance C3 tries to nab Bryan to headline both Lolla and ACL next year though. Luke Combs is in Cincinnati on 8/2 and 8/3 and doesn't have a Chicago date, but I also didn't see where he's doing different cities on back to back nights and he's in Milwaukee in April. Kacey Musgraves is bound to be doing a comeback sometime soon and would be a good first country headliner because of how much crossover appeal there is. And Miranda Lambert is active around then and has no Chicago date too, that could happen Morgan Wallen is also open to headline on August 4th but would Lolla do that? I want to say I doubt it but it's not out of the question

Are we still on this? I personally think if SZA, Blink, and Morgan Wallen are the top acts it would be pretty lame as they all played multiple Chicago dates in 2023. That said, Morgan's huge and there was surplus demand for his Wrigley shows.

They should book Hank Jr to headline

Dark times if Wallen is the #1. I don’t see that happening though.

Blink 182/SZA/The Killers/Eric Church Hozier/Vampire Weekend/Justice/Peso Pluma I really really hope these are not the headliners because than I would potentially have to go back to lollapalooza.

Seriously if you add even a moderate undercard to that it is the best major of the year.

Aside from The Last Dinner party what else needs to be added to the first post today
Edit- it's kinda funny that reddit just goes "playing festivals" or something similar for a lot of their rumor milling. Technically correct! I wanna see some more hustle outta them tho!

Nobody's mentioned it but those Charley Crockett dates kinda stood out to me. Unless I am missing something?

waste of a lineup spot to bring back gnarls. if I could go back to 2006, I'd see kill hannah or sonic youth this time, instead of their set.

Sabrina Carpenter was there last year although that doesn't 100% rule her out. I don't think Lil Nas X has ever played Lolla? So that would make sense.
