So, no longer on Mexican Independence weekend. As someone who has to drive through that shit show to get to RF, that's a major upgrade.

Jesus, $50 in service fees. Ugh. $250 total The holiday presale was the same as last year's regular presale (maybe more, since I'm not sure I got in on the first tier of that), but I'm likely going anyways, so why not

2 GA tickets this year cost me $40 more than whatever level I bought at last year. I can't argue with that.
Also interesting that Deluxe+ is already sold out.

Another year of briefly considering getting a VIP ticket and then going with GA...lol

They also posted an fb event for the fest and it still says Douglass Park

Looks like it. Opted for GA, will probably forget the $100 in 9 months but I also don't totally understand what the benefit is.

I had deluxe for a day this year and that was nice but from the time I spent in the VIP section that day if I had paid for just VIP I would have been pretty disappointed/pissed.

At my age, VIP is helpful to have a shaded place to sit/relax which helps me get through a 3 day fest. yolo/old. *shrug*

Jesus, $50 in service fees. Ugh. $250 total I found my receipt from my 2023 ticket I bought in May. 2023 presale was $189.98 and $229.98 after fees. 2024 presale was $199.98 and $249.88 after fees

I just had a lapse in judgment and bought deluxe tickets for my wife and me on the payment plan....
Now I'm just hoping the lineup has at least a couple bands I love to make it worth it.

that they'd be almost as good as digable planets who played a touch later in the day. no such luck.
digable planets was even better than I remembered them from 13 years before.
edit: here's my day at that day of riot fest: speedy ortiz, blood people, the fever 333, lagwagon, the aquabats, k. flay, sum 41, digable planets, hellzapoppin circus sideshow revue, young the giant. I didn't stick around for weezer.

In the newest episode of the Manchester Orchestra podcast on patreon they were talking about how the singer is going to miss his kids birthday because they are going to be out playing shows in September, and the guitarist said he shouldn't have had kids during festival season. Been 5 years since they played Riot, and played Lolla 2 years ago. I am half expecting them to show up on the lineup.

Slayer is playing. I just got a push notification from the app. Also I don’t think I allowed push notifications from the fucking riot fest app

I wonder if Riot Fest booked the Slayer reunion show at the same time they booked the "final" show .

Something Corporate booked some other festival in Pittsburgh in June, so hopefully the fact that they are playing other fests after last year's WWWY thing, and not just the upcoming shows on the west coast with all of McMahon's bands, has them on the radar for Riot Fest.
