there was a great piece on NPR today with Gossip Wolf and Chicago Reader about the festival market as a whole and specifically Chicago as a microcosm of the oversaturation effect. pretty interesting stuff.
i dont see the recording on wbez or npr's site yet but i'll link it when i find it

i just think baristas in general probably dont get paid enough for the pain in the ass job that it is (could be said of most food/drink occupations)
i feel like dark matter probably does a better job than some of their contemporaries *insert joke about Bowtruss here*
