did not even think of going to this, because I don't like overcrowded street fests, I don't drink beer because of the carbohydrates, and because DBT, THS, Lillie Mae, Ric Wilson, Deeper, and TVOTR are all trapper kept. But I do need to see Joan of Arc one of these days, as they're a spinoff of at least one past (and future?) riot fest band, and since riot fest, I'm all about the bands that have played or will play riot fest, to the detriment of just about the rest of my musical taste.

Not gonna go tonight but I'll likely be there tomorrow for at least Melkbelly. Really wanted to see King Khan but my stupid friend made dinner reservations at Twain at 8:15. I might be able to catch the end though, the restaurant is inside the grounds of the fest...

I'd like to see Whitney and Ex-Hex,but that festival was such a shitshow last year and I doubt it will be any better tonight.

Early. You don't need to be there when gates open. I'm hoping to get there today in time to catch most of Frankie Cosmos but we'll see I parked in bucktown this morning (so I can get home easier from Milw. Ave. and California), and fully intend to catch all of Frankie Cosmos and Ex-Hex (just saw Whitney at Millennium a couple of weeks ago, so I can skip them easily). It'll be the 3rd time seeing Mary Timony in concert, as I saw Helium at Lounge Ax and Wild Flag whichever yr the band played pitchfork.
Apparently the Helium show was in October, 1997 w/ Syrup USA (whoever they were) and The Apples in Stereo opening.

By the way if anyone didn’t go because of space concerns as long as you’re not trying to get all the way to the front of the stage it’s incredibly easy to move around this year

yeah kikagaku moyo was fucking delightful.
fest wasn't insanely packed but i still didn't like how it was set up and how dumb the lines were.
happy that Cole's was empty tho. chilling at links now before Z&A then happy to meet up with folks after

Melkbelly was awesome as usual. The fest did not seem crowded.

2019 Taste dates are July 10-14, so I assume P4K will be the following weekend.
