Arcade Fire is at Summerfest that weekend as well. I assume no one is going but Weezer & The Pixies are also in town (kinda, Tinley).

Oh hey, we just saw Clearance last night open for RBCF. They're Sonic Youth without any edge or a somehow even less offensive Death Cab.

Oh hey, we just saw Clearance last night open for RBCF. They're Sonic Youth without any edge or a somehow even less offensive Death Cab. Clearance has been kicking around the Chicago scene since before I started at the radio station 3 years ago. They often get compared to Pavement - and I think, given how much their singer apes Malkmus, that comp is pretty fair. Fun band tho - starting to think they're never gonna break out of the city, unfortauntely.

Flint Eastwood is really good, for those who haven’t seen her. A bunch of people showed up to her set at Lolla because they thought she was a DJ with a gimmicky name.

Bummer that Ted Leo fell on my David Byrne night, but Chris Farren -> Deerhoof and Martin Rev -> Wooden Shjips sounds nice. Probably more likely to make that second pairing than the first - especially if Martin's playing any Suicide songs, not sure if he will tho.

I'll most likely be at martin rev, but wooden shjips at pritzker a couple of yrs ago was unexciting, so I'll get an early start for work the next day when martin is done.

I believe DOSO said Savannah Conley was great opening 4 Brent Cobb so that into Algiers is cool.

Flint Eastwood is really good, for those who haven’t seen her. A bunch of people showed up to her set at Lolla because they thought she was a DJ with a gimmicky name. Yeah. I saw her/them play four times last year (twice at Lolla and twice at Voodoo). It's not spectacular (IMO) but it's decent music for a fest.
