nothing on the Joaquin speech? "we take the mother cows milk and put it in our cereal" lmao go off king Renee's speech was weird too, but she had the unfortunate position of following up Adam Sandler and Joaquin Phoenix giving insane speeches on consecutive nights

Both best acting speeches were awful and incoherent at times. They should have just had Bong go up for those slots too.

For all the valid carping on the lack of diversity at the Oscars, it's pretty wild that the Oscars have only given best director to an American once in the past decade. And only twice to native English speakers.
2010: England 2011: France 2012: Taiwan 2013: Mexico 2014: Mexico 2015: Mexico 2016: U.S. 2017: Mexico 2018: Mexico 2019: South Korea
In extremely Oscars fashion these were mostly not great picks.

almost kinda bummed we didn't watch now but that's an incredibly agreeable list of winners compared to almost any previous Oscars ever.

Wasn't planning on watching, made the mistake of throwing it on for a minute, ended up watching the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it's the worst and I will not be paying attention in the future, but Bong and Taika were great as were the musical performances that were not Eminem.

I haven't seen Joker yet, was the score for that movie award-worthy? That Icelandic lady who won had a nice speech.

Trying to decide if I should see Judy. Can someone tell me how much of it is about the beleaguered production of the 1968 Cassavetes-disowned "message movie" A Child is Waiting?

Watchmen cleaning up in drama. I was happy to see Regina King win but I also felt like Shira Haas was deserving for Unorthodox.

Glad to see Succession getting recognized with multiple awards as well. The Emmys are actually doing a pretty good job?

I actually didn’t hate that ceremony this year, they actually made it enjoyable all things considered
Great speech at the end by the Succession guy too
