When I did quiz bowl in high school the math questions were always so dumb and insanely complicated. Half of my team never even wrote anything down while they were reading off the question.

I've started going on the Jeopardy subreddit and my favorite thing is the regular posts that are like “wouldn’t Jeopardy be better if they took out all the elements that make it a game show instead of a written exam”

Guys - have a closer look at the soccer player... and notice what he is wearing (e.g. running shoes, bracelets) or not ;-)
Also, multiplication comes before addition
So my final guess is 43
5 + ((5+5X2+2X2)x2) = 43

Also thought it was 35 initially, but then noticed that what had been removed from the initial 15-worth figure was a square (worth 4 for its 4 corners) whether the other two remaining shapes had respectively 5 and 6 corners (4+5+6 = 15). to essentially the last bit is 15-4 so 11 (as opposed to simply two thirds of 15 so 10)
