A couple high end relievers signed overnight:
Familia returning to the Mets 3/30
Joe Kelly to the Dodgers 3/25

Good news. It seems like the Sox have been tied to everybody the last few days, but I was bummed when I saw somebody say they were interested in Familia.

Three team trade with the M's, Indians, and Rays will have Carlos Santana back in Cleveland, Edwin Encarnacion in Tampa among others. Cash changing hands as well.

I dig this trade for Cleveland. Santana and Encarnacion are basically equivalent on offense at this point in their careers. But Santana is a solid defender at first, and Edwin is a glorified DH. I like Carlos' chances at bouncing back and returning to more of a 3 WAR type player next year than a soon-to-be 36-year old Encarnacion too. Plus I'm biased - Carlos was a fan favorite for me and I'm thrilled to have him back home Losing Yandy Diaz is a tough pill to swallow. He seems to be one launch angle adjustment away from becoming a good to great starter. Here's hoping he doesn't become the next Jesus Aguilar... That said, Jake Bauers seems to have a fair bit of potential. His walk rate is stellar already, and I'm sure he'll rebound from hitting .200 as a 22-year old rookie. He's young, cost controlled, and can play outfield - something that Yandy was not able to do. Hopefully this addresses our outfield concerns and we don't have to deal one of Kluber / Bauer. But I wouldn't be completely opposed to that still happening for the right combo of young outfielders. And maaybe with the money saved this season we grab another FA? Lots of options on the table now; I trust the front office to make a smart move.

White Sox signed James McCann. No word on terms but I assume it's a one year deal. Stop gap addition.

Pretty mediocre even for a stopgap.

Apparently they’re not trading Abreu, and Abreu doesn’t want to play DH, so I don’t see as anything else but a play for Machado.

Trading Alonso also presumably provides Cleveland additional financial flexibility to plug in holes on the roster for 2019. I really don't get this move.

Seems to help us more than it helps you - unless this BIL thing actually holds weight. Yonder's a great guy tho, and even tho he went on some massive cold streaks last year, I enjoyed having him on the team.

Ramos to the Mets on a two year $19M deal. Presumably takes them out of the Realmuto sweepstakes.

Michael Brantley to Houston , being reported as 2/32. Mike's been my favorite player since 2009/2010 after he came over as the PTBNL in the Sabathia trade. I met him at a fan event and, as he was a minor name at the time, was basically the only one talking to him. He was super nice and talkative, especially to a geeked out 14-year old. So when he got the call later that year I decided he'd be my new fave on the team. The next spring I custom ordered a Brantley shirsey from the MLB shop and asked him to sign it before a game. He basically lit up and said it was the first time he'd seen someone wearing his jersey - signed it, had another little convo with me. Then he went back to the dugout and about 2-3 minutes later he came back and handed me a signed bat. I was just...fuckin' blown away. It was about the coolest thing that'd ever happened to me, and it remains one of my favorite baseball memories - certainly one that I'll never forget. The last few years have had lots of ups and down for Michael in Cleveland, but he ended with a hell of a comeback season and remained a leader in the clubhouse all through his tenure. I'm gonna miss him in Cleveland, but I wish him all the best. If we can't win it all next year, I'll be pulling for Houston now. Thanks for everything, Mike.

Schilling getting in before Clemens is a joke. I went and googled him and it looks like he started or at least is plugging a gofundme to raise money to build the wall at the boarder since the diaper won't do it

Way too early to start making predictions on who is getting in, especially for someone who is currently borderline. Mo & Edgar are probably locks, the rest are up in the air.
