19. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Seeing this on a big screen was cool. Several first timers in the crowd and you could hear them audibly reacting to the movie.
20. Nightmare On Elm Street - news report with the dead girl's arm dropping off the gurney gets me every time.

8. Creature from the Black Lagoon

This movie rides shots of the creature's arm sticking out of and into stuff pretty hard. But I did like to watch the famous fish man. It's funny and fitting how graceful he is in water and then how awkward he is out of it.

21. The Devil's Backbone - really great ghost story, particularly the last 45 minutes or so.

Will not make it to 31 this year, my attention was diverted to playing Silent Hill 2, which I did finish, and it was very good. The end.

22. The House of the Devil - Perfect movie. Last 15 minutes are still wild and this is my 10th time watching it. Every horror movie needs an extended Fixx dance break.

33. Addams Family Values (1993; Barry Sonnenfeld)


The one-liners get kind of old over the course of 90 minutes, but rarely if ever when they're coming from Christina Ricci or Joan Cusack, who both carry this all the way through. Definitely the funnier/superior Addams Family movie, even though I think its been awhile since I've seen the first. Counting Debbie Jellinsky on the killer list because she proudly associates, but she earns a controversially low spot for not being able to succeed in this film.

34. Death Becomes Her (1992; Robert Zemeckis)


Not a true horror movie but I don't feel bad counting it since I watched it on Halloween and am over 31. I had never actually seen this all the way through despite seeing 20-minute doses of it on Comedy Central over years and years. Enough violence / "body horror" gags that make it feel seasonally appropriate. I'm not 100% sure but I think Bruce Willis is terrible in this. Honestly I didn't love it.
