The lack of big name EDM acts is very interesting. Some people think it's because EDC Vegas moved up their dates to May. There's also a rumor on Reddit that Goldenvoice is planning on having an EDM fest later in the year and is holding back acts for that.

yeah i didnt realize it until i made the playlist and all the solo artists names in the undercard that i just assumed were edm (because i am an old) ended up being pop, r&b, folk, and more idm downtempo stuff.
definitely not complaining about the change

Obviously I didn't grow up on 8 Mile but growing up he Em lived less than a mile from me, his daughter went to my high school, I still haven't seen him yet, Encore was the first CD I ever bought, idk I feel like I have a weird obligation to see him but I'll never go out of my way to buy a ticket to a solo show. So like this is my only chance, unless I win tickets to Roo again. Too bad Coachella will be his first show and I don't know how much new material he'll play, I think more than people are assuming. Also guests? Dre for Guilty Conscience pleaaaase. |

So I was able to sell my passes already but just found out the camping passes are non-transferable! so I'm out the $100 or whatever for that.

I think it just means the camping pass is tied to your particular wristband so you can't sell them separately

Right, but I fucked up and sold the passes separately. So I COULD be a nice guy and just throw the camping pass in for free, but the sale's already done so it's not like I can ask for more money. Ah well, it isn't the worst. Just a fuckup on my part.

I’m all for not giving that dude money because he is most certainly a piece of shit but AEG owns like, every LA sports team and a bunch of venues across the country and also a ton of oil. He’s a multi-billionaire and going to Coachella isn’t even a drop in the bucket for him. In my head I’d probably just imagine that it’s going to support the medical school rather than the anti-gay causes for my own personal sanity.

yeah not that i don't appreciate the sentiment but pretending coachella is the prime target for a boycott is pretty pointless.
I'd also wager a lot of folks at the top of livenation and Ticketmaster's parent companies are terrible but i doubt anyone is boycotting every LN and TM show anytime soon

GA ($429) for weekend 1 is gone but GA w/ Shuttle ($504) is still available. vip is $999

it's a very, very, very, very, very, long shot, but it is not completely impossible that I could convince the better half to make Coachella 2018 her first festival since lollachile 2011, especially now that economic and health issues are not as dire as they were a couple of yrs ago...
