I had one about 15-20 years ago. Well, an Outback Sport which was basically an Impreza wagon. I liked it a lot, but as with all Subarus, it is a heavier vehicle due to the AWD, so the gas mileage is below average compared to other vehicles in its class.

Some data points from Consumer Reports on the 2024 model if that interests you:

- "Highs" include agile handling, short stops on dry pavement, and standard AWD
- The only "Low" is slow acceleration
- Predicted reliability is 69 (nice) which is in the "light green" zone (one below the best/"dark green" zone)
- Predicted owner satisfaction is 3 (out of 5) which is the "yellow" zone
- Reported owner satisfaction for the past eight years, however, is in the "orange" zone (2 out of 5)

Counterpoint: Nissan Kicks

It's been the perfect little city car with a surprising amount of headroom (I believe you are A Tall like myself), a surprising amount of space in the hatchback for hauling garden supplies or camping gear, and surprisingly decent tech/sound for its price range (8" touchscreen with 360 cameras, Bose soundsystem). Also a new model just came out so people will probably be dumping 2023 and prior versions.

We got a deep freeze about a year ago and have gotten really into buying things in bulk when on sale, portioning out and vacuum sealing and freezing. Would be a huge bummer to lose it all. Almost did twice this year with power outages but was able to save a lot of it.

Potentially huge project was approved in Denver:

Kroenke Sports and Entertainment plans to build more than 6,000 housing units, more than 1,000 of which will be designated as affordable, on what is now a sea of pavement. Construction could begin as soon as 2026, but the development may not be finished until 2050.

The proposal authorized on Monday calls for a 5,000-seat venue, a hotel, new bike lanes, and a three-acre public park. The deal will also ensure the championship Nuggets and Avalanche stay in the immediate area until at least 2050, either at Ball Arena or in a new arena nearby.

The project is set to include an early childhood education center, small business support and jobs for people from lower-income parts of the city. And connections will be built to surrounding neighborhoods, from the current downtown to La Alma/Lincoln Park and Sun Valley.
