I pick the Dodgers in 6 and the Astros in 5.

Daniel Webb died in an ATV accident I always thought him and Nate Jones would be stars out of the bullpen

God that was a miserable end to the Cubs game.
That said, and I know it's very against current public opinion, I don't completely disagree with Maddon not bringing Davis in. Inasmuch both are bad, I'd rather see Lackey give up the win there than see 1.1 innings shutout from Davis only to have Lackey lose it later.

The issue with it for me is that the likelihood that that would go well was so low. Lackey's worst innings over his career are his firsts, he's never pitched on back-to-back days, he's given up a ton of home runs and he was inheriting the losing run. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Yeah, I'm not saying it was a good choice, I just don't think there was a good choice. Maddon said afterwards that Davis was specifically fatigue limited.

probably should have brought wade in but oh well, i wasnt that against lackey in the moment.
i also doubted they were going to score any runs after how the last few innings went so nice of them to put us out of our misery.

Fair. I didn't have a good feeling about it either, but I feel like you have to at least get to extras and then figure it out. Maybe you can survive Jansen then get to somebody else.

it's not fair to complain about the bullpen this time because lester looked like he was on his last legs and then they did several solid innings.

Definitely a good argument. Do they leave him in, and if they don't, what do they have left in the tank? That all said, I'm going to be optimistic until another loss. Everyone should actually be rested, and back at home, and Hendricks/Arrieta is up.

Agreed. Obviously would've liked to get that one yesterday against Hill, but feel pretty good about the next two.

Obviously would've liked to get that one yesterday against Hill, but feel pretty good about the next two. yeah, it's pretty much just that we need to score runs. if javy is able to somehow get a fucking walk and get all the way to 3rd with only one out, bryant can't strike out or we're not going anywhere.

Only game I've been able to watch so far was the Astros/Yankees game on Saturday - otherwise every game has been on cable (I get TBS, but I'm surprised MLB is cool with Fox using this as an opportunity to get some decent ratings for FS1.)
Always happy to see Chapman get the loss. I love watching Altuve and that Astros lineup play - hoping they continue and make it to the WS.

Man, the Cubs have been playing like the regular season St. Louis Cardinals. I feel your frustration.

The Cubs are hitting .172 in the playoffs, the lowest team BA in postseason history? Damn.

One of the few bright spots recently. you mean puig, right? otherwise, i salute you for your support of a player 0-for-20 in the playoffs whose value is apparently good swiping.

Actualol. It was a funny moment but yeah I think Puig was like "Bitch, your team is about to be 0-3 in this series."
