Huh I guess Girardi was actually fired. That's nuts.
I'd bet he'll take some time off, but he'd be perfect for the Nationals.

Must be something behind the scenes.

he apparently clashed with cashman a bunch this year. apparently, their relationship really went downhill in a disagreement over chris carter's playing time. girardi "didn't give a fuck what the analytics said. he didn't think carter deserved to play at all. cashman disagreed." heard that earlier today on espn radio.
in any event, cash comes back no matter what so i guess that left girardi on the outs. that said, girardi has a high school age son who is a serious pro prospect and he wanted to spend more time working with him. that's been an issue for two years now.
i'm curious who the yankees are going to hire. my top choice (and no, i'm not kidding) is arod. always been a student of the game and someone who lives and breathes the game. plus, the younger yankees love him because of how much time he spent working with them (sanchez, judge, gleybar, frazier, etc.) while he was with the team (and even in spring training before this season). obviously, that won't happen now, but it's a possibility for the future.

I'm confused by this. Wouldn't an analytics minded person want to bench Chris Carter because he sucks, while a traditionalist would see the 41 dingers and want him in the lineup? Also I love the idea of A-Rod as a manager eventually

I don't think it's even Cashman as much as it is Mike Fishman and the analytics team. They run this through Cash but Fishman is the guy who basically is responsible for a lot of the success. I suspect part of it too is Cashman having to control the keys to the kingdom. Girardi getting axed gives Cash more power and more potential credit.
A-Rod knows more about baseball then anyone, but I can't see him holding a clubhouse together or keeping people loose.

This game is super exciting. I am glad I am not a fan of one of these two teams because I would be dead.

How the Dodgers score 12 runs and don't win, makes me really sad.
I think they'll bring it back and win two games at home though

Dave Martinez will be announced as Nationals manager after the World Series. Good for him.
Also, his series has been incredible. It feels like everyone on both sides has contributed and also struggled at some point. Makes for very unpredictable and exciting action.

It's been wild. When's the last time we've had two consecutive World Series go 7 games ?

Got my free taco, and since Maybin was the one to steal it, I'm taking it as a sign for the Astros.

I just want another great game. I think the Dodgers pull it out, though.

Also free food isn't even enough to get me near a Taco Bell.

This is the one WS game I’ll have watched start to finish and it’s boring.

Happy for the Astros and the city of Houston. That city deserves to have something to celebrate.

Alright, final predictions? I'm going Astros in 7, but that's just because I want all WS to go to game seven. BOOM

I'm already excited for the offseason to see what scrap heap bullpen/outfield the White Sox put together.
