the greatest remake ever, The Wicker Man, is showing tonight at movies in the park in Wicker Park -- fittingly -- if anyone wants to join. 8:15 start.
(pregaming is encouraged)

Going in an hour to see this. IMAX time didn't match up though so I'm hoping that doesn't bring it down

Girlfriend and I saw The Little Hours last night. It's funny and worth your time, mostly due to the cast. Also, it's only 90 minutes, which is perfect for an irreverent comedy like this.

Spiderman: Homecoming was really, really fun. Didn't expect that at all.

Dunkirk was phenomenal. Can't imagine what it's like in IMAX though...the regular theater I was in was already crazy loud

I'd give Baby Driver 7.5-8/10. Loved the Monsters Inc line from Spacey

Dunkirk was phenomenal. Can't imagine what it's like in IMAX though...the regular theater I was in was already crazy loud According to actor-director Kenneth Branagh, roughly 30 veteran Dunkirk survivors, who were in their mid nineties, attended the premiere in London. When asked about the film, they felt that it accurately captured the event but that the soundtrack was louder than the actual bombardment, a comment that greatly amused director Christopher Nolan.

we went to Dunkirk at the music box today. it looked terrific in 70mm, but i was disappointed in how it sounded there.

also enjoyed Dunkirk -- infintely more than Interstellar for sure. 2 hours of that kinda intensity was almost exhausting so i feel like i should say something negative about the pacing but i'm still on a comedown from it so i'll process more this week. late night feature was the first Austin Powers at Logan last night so we just got drunk and stayed at the theater and caught that after Dunkirk. still hilarious

To be clear, I have nothing but praise for the choreography and cinematography. Gorgeous film. It's just everything supporting those that whiffed.

You don't appreciate the absolute devotion to a world where everyone from a sommelier to the homeless is an armed killer who uses gold coins for currency?

I actually just rewatched it on my red-eye back home and still loved it. Like, I could probably watch an entire movie of him just buying guns; the way he handles the shotgun is somehow the coolest fucking thing to me.

I love how it's a no bullshit movie. It's just straight up violence from beginning to end with a little plot and Nostalghia sprinkled in.
