meanwhile, i've been hyped about this one for a while.
Jonas Åkerlund—the director who’s made videos for Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and more—has shared the poster for Lords of Chaos, his upcoming film about Norwegian black metal that stars Sky Ferreira. The poster reveals that Sigur Rós have provided music for the film. Check it out below. Pitchfork has contacted the band’s representatives for more information on their involvement. Lords of Chaos is based on the 1998 book of the same name by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind. It will reportedly follow the seminal black metal group Mayhem, whose guitarist Euronymous was murdered by Burzum’s Varg Vikernes in 1993.

We watched that a couple of weeks ago and thought it was really well done. A bit long, but overall a great watch.

I saw it when it first came out but after ten years it was basically like watching it for the first time. I miss Downey Jr acting in non-Iron Man roles.

I've only seen parts of Paddington because of my nephews, but my god, the toothbrushes in the ears grosses me out so much.

Phantom Thread is pretty incredible in an understated and mannered way. Too soon to redo these PTA rankins, but I'm meditating on it.

(I know, dude's a literal Nazi and that might be a bad look in 2018, but...)

Random movie thought: I wish, instead of making a sequel to It, they had decided to do a big-budget 'Salem's Lot movie instead.

3 Billboards was everything I expected it to be, which is a very positive review, to be clear.

Phantom thread had a nice score, good acting, a dumb ending and good camera work.
But for some reason I wasn't interested at all. Probably my least favorite pta flick
Just wish they would've done the ending differently, it worked with the theme of the film but I thought it was meh

I finally saw Lady Bird and had tears streaming down my face the whole time. Not really sure what that was about. A little too real maybe.

We saw The Post yesterday; I thought it was excellent overall. Streep was particularly outstanding, as expected. On the other hand, it was so star-studded, I found it distracting at times. Like Lady Bird, I didn't walk away feeling like I'd just seen an Award-Winning Film, but it is one I'd like to watch again when it's available on HBO or whatever.
