how does one see Faces Places these days I know this isn't helpful, but it is playing in KC. I saw it. It was good but it was a little dull at times.

It just started playing here this past week. The trailer didn't make it look like my thing and they're also only showing it once a day at off-hours, so I probably won't catch it.

hopefully you get some better screening times with it's oscar nom now.

I'm hoping, but it looks like the noms actually fucked up the theater's schedule; they have every big Oscar film showing at like two random times a day instead of a few of them consistently.

Hopefully Rockwell and Harrelson split the Three Billboards vote and D afoe wins best supporting actor.Didn’t happen for SAG. Doubt it happens for the Oscars. Yes please

also Blade Runner 2049 only getting cinematography and visuals (which im sure will lose to Shape of Water) and sound (which always goes to Nolan films for reasons no one can explain to me) is such a bummer. Can't agree more...

Huh I don’t really follow the Oscar prediction sights, so that’s surprising to me. It's all about Shape of Water and Three Billboards now. Not unhappy about this

Not really all that excited about seeing Three Billboards with all of the comparisons to Crash. I doubt it gets the Best Picture win with all of the sensitivity to #oscarssowhite.

It really isn't like Crash. It's a very very surface comparison to make.

Unrelated to numbers of billboards: for real there are two boarder lists with Paddington 2 on them. Are we going off of original release date or US release?

Speaking of - what do you guys think of the 2011 French movie The Intouchables (if you have seen it)?
(I saw it last week and did find it moving, and also funny in parts, though I've got to say that with a hindsight, I also feel queasy about what, in many ways, is a shitload of stereotyping, and can't help but think that the movie could have easily avoided at least the bulk of this... )

Bryan Cranston and Kevin Hart are starring in the American remake. Seriously.

It never saw US release until January, so I was assuming it as a 2018 film. I feel like it would have been on more critic lists if it was being viewed as a 2017 film.

I agree with this, it makes the most sense to go off of what the people here can actually see.
