Ronan’s appearance was pretty pointless other than to explicitly foreshadow the ‘twist.’ I could tell it was Lee Pace but I feel like he couldn’t be bothered to go through full makeup just for two minutes of screen time.

Captain Marvel is basically just female Iron Man? Movie was extremely mediocre and her entire "power" and suit were just blatant copies of iron man. Unsurprising given how bland and generic the majority of this marvel stuff has gotten. Still, it at least didn't try to feature numerous other superheroes which puts it a step above nearly every recent avengers and standalone marvel movie.
Ant Man 2. Seemed like 1/2 of the movie was just creepy Michael Douglas in front of a green screen plus a lot of dated/unfunny jokes. The bit with Morrissey was truly awful. Did they watch that Anthony Bourdain episode directly during the writing and feel the need to throw that line in? Good for Disney/Marvel, for having a super hero movie where one of the good guys whacked off in front of women while forcing them to read dialogue irl.
Thor 3. Didn't see Thor 1 or 2. This was also very bad. Why was the Hulk in this even? It's called Thor: Ragnarok. Not Hulk: Ragnarok.

2. You obviously didn't see the first Ant-Man, or you just missed the fact that Luis is a big fan.
3. You do realize these are based on comic books with pre-existing stories and such, yes?

Endgame tickets are apparently going on sale tomorrow 👀 don’t think it’s an April Fools. Times are up on fandango now, just can’t buy them quite yet. Rumor is 8am EST tomorrow.

i got a text at 7:06 from my friend that our first choices were already sold out, so he bought for the 27th. now to somehow avoid every trailer, spoiler, etc. for a month.

got ours for thursday at 5 pm at the Icon on Roosevelt with the Sonos surround sound  gonna be liiiiiiiiiit also p good trailer. i kinda hope we get more exploration of a half-empty universe but also they need to spend a lot of time explaining the quantum realm and the time-blackholes or whatever in order for this plot to make any sense. so im probably expecting way too much exposition for something that's gonna get written off in the first 5 minutes as "ant man found a thing!" |

To be fair, and clear about my biases, through and through comedies are the only genre I think gain anything from audience reactions in a theater.

tbf eric did all the work to get our tickets today  but he's also so obsessed with avoiding spoilers that we always have to see the marvel movies opening weekend before the internet ruins it for him infinity war was the most fun ive had with a crowd in a theater tho. black panther was a good crowd as well. everyone during capt marvel fell asleep but we went at 11 pm on a saturday, so yeah |

man, I have three possible shows that Thursday through Saturday... My daughter is dying to see that, so I'm not sure if we'll go Sunday or if I'll skip my Friday show and do it then.

I usually go on Tues nights. The AMC theater down the road has $5 tickets and also $5 small popcorn AND drink combo. It's practically a free movie night!

Happy for the folks who are happy to to get early tickets to this, but man, this does not seem like the movie I'd ever want to see in a packed opening weekend theater. This is exactly the movie I want to see opening night. I’ve done that for most of the Marvel movies. The energy opening night is super fun imo. Maybe I’ve just gotten lucky with good audiences though. Plus I don’t wanna have to avoid spoilers for a whole weekend. |
