I don't know what I wanted, but Endgame's pretty disappointing as a title, and I expect it to be said 17 times in the film now.

yeah i never loved that idea for a title but i also dont have a better alternative. it's fine, it works.
and im assuming a lot of the plot is gonna either tie into Captain Marvel and/or the other universe the dead souls are being kept in (soul stone, quantum, whatever) so they cant show anything yet which im cool with.
looks good. at they're recognizing that hawkeye didnt just get snapped after missing from several films.
spoiling that antman makes it out of the microverse is a bit annoying but expected

I like the title. Looks like a dark film (duh). It's gonna be fun. I can't wait.

What is that at :20? That ain't a ship. definitely looks like the Guardian's ship. i'd assume Tony and/or Nebula use it for Nebula to hunt down her father while Tony tries to get back to Earth. or maybe it's Capt. Marvel in some capacity but she can apparently fly through space without a ship so eh

That's not angel-like wings and legs? Could be Captain Marvel, yeah... maybe...

He takes super supplements that he invented. Probably has nanotech in his blood, too.
Yeah... I actually considered this for reals.
Approved.

i feel like of all the stupendous things that have happened in this silly franchise, the smartest Avenger (or at least the one that isn't literally omniscient because of a green rock) figuring out how to survive 4 days without food or water isn't really something to play the Plausibility Card on.

I just think it's funny that he's talking all casually and they feel the need to reference that he's been without water for 4 days, but hey, it's a comic book movie.

I agree they didn't have to put a number on it. He doesn't look exhausted enough and it's something else to be scrutinized. I feel ya.

My daughter really wants to see it, so i'm not sure if I'm taking her or my wife is.
I'm surprised a new Endgame preview hasn't come out since last night

I don't really expect many surprises. I figure it will be nice enough closure for the MCU up to that point. Very excite to see Captain Marvel next week.

I haven't watched the Endgame trailer, and will be kind of upset if there is one before Captain Marvel. Although I'm sure I won't be able to avoid them for too much longer.

Thought the first 30 minutes or so of CM was pretty bad, thankfully after that it's pretty good stuff. Thought SLJ kinda carried the flick. Something was off about the tone of CM, mostly due to the writing.
Excited for Endgame after that post credits scene

Captain Marvel was good. I have a fondness for cosmic characters usually tho. Looking forward to Endgame moreso now.

i thoroughly enjoyed Captain Marvel.
a few minor complaints about how it kinda screws up some details going into Endgame but it's not like a major flub
Brie was fantastic and it's wild that critics had a beef with her performance
also music was 100/10

I loved Brie in the role. Pretty underwhelmed by the movie, though - definitely bottom tier Marvel movie for me. Lack of interesting villains was especially glaring. Just kind of meh.

I really liked what they did with what we assumed was the villain though. He was basically my favorite character. And it was a fun twist on what I expected. I really like it, more than I expected to.. Started slow but got better and better as it went along. Probably fits at the bottom of my top 10 MCU movies.

Yeah he was a good character, but there's not much drama with the villain being a dude that she defeated pretty easily in the opening scene of the movie. Would have been cool to have Ronan as the main bad guy, but he was too sparingly used.
I also don't entirely understand what her powers are, which is insane for me to be even saying after watching an origin movie.

Yeah he was a good character, but there's not much drama with the villain being a dude that she defeated pretty easily in the opening scene of the movie. Would have been cool to have Ronan as the main bad guy, but he was too sparingly used. nah i liked that there was no massive baddy at the end and it was all about her history and relationships with her captors vs her friends. it got away from the Marvel formula a bit also i think in Avengers "canon," there's really not many villains who are as powerful as her that could pose a real threat anyway. (Thanos, obv) Ronan bitched out pretty quickly. my question regarding her powers was; Mar Vel has clearly been working on the space stone and the core long enough that she knows it'll make a bit of an explosion when she shoots it, right? she seemed to have no problem trying to blow it up before the Kree got it and didnt bother to tell Carol to get the fuck away before it blew. so then Carol does it anyway and gets exposed and yaddayadda. but like, did Mar Vel not care if Carol died or was she planning on exposing Carol anyway in which case hey fuck Mar Vel too every mentor in this story is a shitbag.
also my Avengers question is that in the first one, Nick Fury explicitly says the the events of the first Thor are what teaches SHIELD that humanity is not alone in the universe and we are hopelessly outmatched. but like, this movie happens well before Thor and Fury/Coulson seem privy to the whole thing and didnt get MIB mind-erased or anything at the end, sooooo?
