ooooooooooooh this a good one.
i've seen Wilco more times live and have listened to the whole of their discography more, but i love MMJ's live show more and really really really love 1 or 2 of their albums more than any Wilco album sooooooooooooo MMJ.

Wilco, largely because hearing YHF was pretty huge in developing my musical taste.

MMJ. Z is great.
The first big festival I ever went to was ACL in 2007. On Sunday they had these two conflicting. People were pissed.

These are two bands that I should like more but somehow I don't really care about.
Voted MMJ because jams.

I'm not the biggest fan of either band, but the couple of Wilco albums that I like I reallllllly like. Much respect for MMJ, especially as a live act and for Jim's versatility, but the vote goes pretty easily to Wilco.

Never seen MMJ live - and that seems to be the crux of their appeal. So, for me, this poll is a landslide for Wilco. But - Wilco is probably something like a top 5-10 band for me. Have had separate obsessions with at least 5 of their albums over the years.
Also, they made "Handshake Drugs"

Never got into Wilco as much as I probably should have while MMJ have been one of my favorite bands for over a decade.

I like Wilco bette I guessr but the idea that My Morning Jacket is only a live act or are inherently less good is crazy and dumb

mmj has some great albums and they were one of my favorite live bands for a while. but their last couple albums have been disappointments and even the last two times i saw them were just ok.
wilco will never achieve the highs that i've experienced with mmj. but they have been far more consistent to my ears.

I have love and respect for MMJ, but it's Wilco by a long shot. Better songwriting, better overall discography, better supporting cast (Nels Cline and Glenn Kotche, in particular). Ever since the current lineup was assembled in 2004, they've been one of the greatest American rock bands and they consistently put on one of the best live shows in rock music.

I like Wilco bette I guessr but the idea that My Morning Jacket is only a live act or are inherently less good is crazy and dumb Not this exactly, just that their live act is supposedly next-level good and one of the key things pointed to by their fans. Their albums are fine to great, but it feels like I'm missing a comparatively more important piece of their puzzle if I haven't seen their show.

mmj has some great albums and they were one of my favorite live bands for a while. but their last couple albums have been disappointments and even the last two times i saw them were just ok. i still think Circuital gets an unfairly bad reputation for having some genuinely fun songs but i get it. The Waterfall was an awesome comeback tho, imo. i think they're live show is still A+ but the crowds have been far tamer the past few times i've seen them which can dampens the bangers bit (that's mostly Shaky Knees attendees and Peorian Bob Dylan fans' fault)

Wilco has made better music more recently than MMJ has.
