I roadtripped home to Cleveland last month and visited the Rock Hall with my gf... Unbeknownst to me, there was a Kiss Army convention of sorts going on that day. I've never seen so many 40-60 y/o white people with scraggly beard and Kiss leather/jean jackets in one place in my life. As the museum was closing, I asked an employee if I could take home their life-sized Gene Simmons tongue-out cardboard cutout, and was rather bluntly refused. That being said, that day ruled. I vote Kiss.

I’m not huge on either, but only one of these bands wrote Beth so it seems pretty open and shut

I found out the urban legend about "Beth" was untrue like a month ago and I have not recovered

I was trying to come up with a reason to vote Cooper and couldn't put one together that held up.

Alice Cooper is the only musician - and person - to be inducted into the White Castle Hall of Fame and perform at the White Castle Corporate HQ here in Columbus, Ohio. Since the Board is now run by fast food cheeseburgers I hope this sways some fence-sitters.

I almost want to throw Coop a pity vote because he deserves better and I still like him more than 90% of the artists featured in these polls. But I don't want Gene to turf me from the Kiss Army
1. Creatures of the Night 2. Destroyer 3. Love Gun 4. Hotter than Hell 5. Dressed to Kill

I voted Cooper. He did the face paint before Kiss did. Also, his songs are better IMO.
Kiss is still pretty cool though,.

If there were polls on individual band members I would vote for Vinnie Vincent over anyone. Lennon, Hendrix, Mozart, Tchaikovsky .... wouldn't matter....

this is a weird matchup but definitely going with Cooper. consistently a better live show and his songs have somehow aged better than a lot of Kiss' shit.
Kiss still has 3 or 4 GOAT songs but they also have Gene Simmons.

Cooper's greatest hits album, from August 1974, has 12 songs better than any 12 songs ever released by Kiss. If there were more "olds" on this board, this poll would be a runaway in favor of Alice.
Also, Ace Frehley and his (solo) tour band at Cubby Bear a couple of yrs before 1996, was way better than the original four Kiss reunion at the Rosemont Horizon in 1996.

Cooper for me, although the last good Alice Cooper song was "Poison" (1989). The last good KISS song was... uh... "Lick It Up" (1983) I guess?

I voted for KISS. I've seen each band just once (both within the last couple of years) and they both put on a fun show, but Alice has never written a song I like as much as "Black Diamond" or "God of Thunder."

The only one I've seen live is Kiss, when they entered the show riding a giant farting spider. You would think that would give them the edge, but no.

I don’t really care much about either act, but Alice Cooper isn’t Gene Simmons, so he gets my vote.

Aren't they all a bunch of Republicans? my guess is Paul Stanley votes democrat/moderate republican but is probably not particularly progressive and that Gene Simmons went on Fox News a ton because they inexplicably let Gene Simmons on Fox News a ton but has never voted in his life. By Stanley's account Criss was a big racist and thats one of the reasons why hes no longer allowed near the band while Ace occasionally is almost back in Kiss and than they fight over who has better hair and not talk for 10 years Alice Cooper is a tea party Republican who claims no affilation.

I hope that in the near future Greta Van Fleet moves on from ripping off Led Zepplin and starts ripping off Alice Cooper, including having the lead singer change his name to Greta Van Fleet

Peter and Ace were both booted because they couldn't hold it together on stage. Ace is occasionally sober now but I think the gravy train is too good with the scab Space Ace and Catman.
You could make the argument that Kiss should be disqualified from this vote because they let the poseur Spaceman do "Shock Me" during live shows. But I dunno.
