I have lower bowl tickets in the rear of the arena for the July 10 show but not sure I'll be able to make it. If you want the pair, I'd be willing to sell them to you for face value, of course. I'll know for sure if I'm able to attend next week and if I am, then I'd be willing to sell you the single next to me. Yo yes! Very down. I'm rolling solo but I know a few people I could ask along so the pair works if you can't go, and the single works if you can. Do you remember how much they were? Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it for the Tuesday show. Can you let me know today or tomorrow if you want this pair of tickets? Details: Section 103 , Row 18 , Seats 13,14 $99.50 each $244.60 total after fees

Hey doso if you make it to BSS and wanna say hi I'm up front in the Ziggy Stardust shirt dancing poorly by myself. You'll be my favorite boarder forever if you have sunscreen too I applaud you for venturing out in this godawful weather, but I did not have it in me. Hope you didn't get sunburned!

Any of ya'll doing Van Morrison w/ Willie Nelson? Try to figure out a couple days to go to NY before the end of September and as of right now that is most appealing.

Any of ya'll doing Van Morrison w/ Willie Nelson? Try to figure out a couple days to go to NY before the end of September and as of right now that is most appealing. I hadn't planned on it since the tickets are so expensive (plus they're both in the TK), but if you're in town I could be convinced to ride along for that one, especially if the weather's decent. Forest Hills is such a pleasant place to see a show. There are still a fair amount of tickets available, so I wouldn't be surprised if some discounted seats pop up for resale a day or two in advance of the perforrmance. Another tactic would be to buy the (comparatively) cheapo $50 limited view/extreme side angle seats in section 1002LV or 102LV. At the moment, it looks like the last 10-15 rows in the adjacent sections (902/1002 and 102/202) are unsold, so it would be easy to hop over and enjoy the show from a less extreme angle. Other noteworthy shows the week of and the week after (I have tickets for the bolded shows): 9/9 - OctFest (FLips, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, YLT, Girlpool, Hop Along, No Age, etc. on Governor's Island) 9/12 - Let's Eat Grandma at Baby's (same night as Van the Man) 9/15 - Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever at Bowery Ballroom 9/15-17 - David Byrne (one night at Forest Hills, then two nights at Kings Theatre) 9/20 - Neko Case at the Beacon 9/22 - Paul Simon Farewell Concert in Corona Park and Farm Aid in Connecticut Final Note - Jewish Holiday Alert: Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on 9/9 and Yom Kippur begins at sundown on 9/18.

I was considering Farm Aid weekend but I think I'd rather drop $100 on Van Morrison/Willie and stay in the city vs heading all the way to conneticut and droping who knows how much to see a bunch of artists im already gonna/have seen this summer
Also, it being Riot Fest that weekend seemed like a nice 6 day vacation (work monday-tusesday, fly in first thing wednesday or late night tuesday, fly back to chicaog first thing friday morning and than see blink 182 or whatever.

Makes sense. Holler at me if you book airline tickets and we'll figure something out for Van and Willie.

I'm gonna see Willie at some point this summer, as I've never caught him before, but idk yet if I'm doing the Van Morrison show or one of the Neil ones (Saratoga Springs too). Will keep ya posted tho, if prices dip on SH at any point then I'm definitely there regardless.

How early do you think the lineup'll have to be? I get off work at 1:00 but she stays until 5:30 - could I lineup and have her meet me there? I've never done an HoV show before.

Bass Drum of Death just announced a show at Baby's All Right on 7/29. It's their only show announced so far. So glad they're back.

True story; Thissy was a block away from that intersection. And I’ve heard good things about Black Swan which is an avenue away. It’s also close-ish to David’s Brisket House, Olmstead, Gold Star Beer Counter, The Wilky and Emily. Mrs. DoSo has a friend in Bed-Stuy; can get more recos for you.

Woah that's fairly close to my apartment too. Would be interested in those recs too! I'm at Pacific and Franklin, in Crown Heights.

Question 1 is anyone going to the July 20 House of Vans show with Blondie and Liz Phair and happen to not have a person to be their +1? I think I missed the RVSP on that and sounds like a fun thing to do, and lines up pretty perfectly time wise for me, I assume it'll be over at like 11 and my friend lands right after 11, and it's pretty close to my airbnb
Question 2 we want to see a Broadway show either that Saturday or Sunday what's the best one that's not Hamilton or the Book of Mormon? Bonus points if its a show that I don't have to spend a million dollars to get into. Off Broadway is ok too. I really know next to nothing about most of the shows right now

if you want somewhat affordable i'd go with one of the shows available through the tkts discount booth. you have to go day of (or day before for matinees) to see what they have available, but this list of what's up currently should give you an idea of what they'll have: www.tdf.org/nyc/81/TKTS-Live?loc=sssplast time i did it, i was amazed at how expensive the broadway ones still were at 50% off. we're talking like $80 or something. we ended up seeing avenue q since the off broadway stuff was cheaper, it was hilarious. i dont know much about any of the shows listed there besides the classics. i think straight white men is the armie hammer thing alady has mentioned a few times? i also think it's a play, not a musical.
