Serious question but what's wrong with the Auditorium Theatre? I've never been which is why I ask. The ticket buying process is possibly the worst, right up there with the Chicago Theater.

It's super cramped so it sucks for tall people. That combined with people not standing basically just gives me two options: sit uncomfortably or stand in the aisles until an usher yells at me

That said if you can snag a box at the Auditorium it's extremely comfy, even for talls.

Hopefully tickets to that MSG show are reasonable. I haven't seen the National since 2018 and would be interested in catching them there. Plus it's with Patti! Not sure whether that'll be a co-headline situation? Or if they'll open for her? I honestly have no idea.

I don’t think she can come close to selling out MSG and The National can probably get close to doing it on their own.

National is in Seattle while I’m at Primavera but also I saw them at Primavera last year before they had a chance to put out whatever bullshit album they’re about to do so I guess I’ll call it a wash

Motion City Soundtrack and Sincere Engineer are the extra bands on the Chicago bill for that TBS tour.
Eight bands is Too Many if you ask me.

Gonna fire up the "Ugly Kid Joe at Lollapalooza" rumor mill St Charles is the "Chicago" date. Its their first US tour in 27 years. Surprised they weren't able to book a venue in the city. Seems like a good fit for Bottom Lounge or Reggie's.

Seems like a good fit for Bottom Lounge or Reggie's. Presumably at the Arcada. I’ve never seen a show there, but given the quality of acts they typically book, the ticket prices always seem to be outrageous. I wonder if their guarantees are better compared to booking a show at a club in the city.

I live nowhere near Kane County, but over a number of years, the shows I and the better half have seen at the Arcada are Dionne Warwick (sometime around 2009), and Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers (early 2020 before the pandemic). I did win tix for Billy Ocean (from, I think, B96) there in between those yrs, but the better half didn't go with for that.
