He said it was like Dan at the New Pornographer shows, Mike just kind of wandered out on stage and did backup vocals occasionally, then just went backstage again. But Michael seemed pretty surprised about it at first |

My dude was at Chat Pile last night and he said it was the kind of show where people were taking their shirts off (but also that it was very, very sold out and very, very good).

Black Pumas - 1/27 at the Salt Shed
Seems like kind of an undersell to me. This band should be playing Solider Field or Wrigley. Even in January their smooth grooves and psych jams will keep everyone warm. I don't book the tours but this feels like a huge mistake to me!
Either way I will be there, especially after the disaster that was last year where they kept cancelling shows as I was in the parking lot waiting to get in to see the Pumas.

Interesting that she was playing a much larger venue in Denver last tour. She was supposed to be at the Riv here on her last tour before she cancelled the show. I don’t think the new album made as much of a splash as her first. |

Just a heads up for anyone going to, or considering the Billy Strangs Halloween show - you can do a cheeky round trip out of Midway on Southwest for like $113. It's barely an hour flight so with the time change on the way home, you get home at the same time you left.

It's barely an hour flight so with the time change on the way home, you get home at the same time you left. Conversely, you can tell your principal that you have diarrhea and that you have to leave 8th period early and hope he doesn't see you drive away in a clown car full of wooks. |

OK I've never seen Elvis Costello so I should probably go to one of those shows. i saw him earlier this summer (my 3rd time to see him but first with the imposters) and he was pretty good. he re-works some of the songs a little bit, not like dylan, but there's a few changes. his voice holds up ok for the most part. was a nice diverse setlist. he doesn't utilize charlie sexton near enough as he should, given that he puts him on the billing as a special guest - thought he'd have more of a role on guitar, but it's elvis' show. i had nick lowe as an opener and he was great, it'd been 40 years since i last saw him. |
