LCD residency at the shed gonna be one of the great "it's unseasonably warm today I'll pay $20 to see a band I really liked ten years ago" shows

Ugh do I see Burna Boy at an arena or Chat Pile for $15? Stupid conflict to have. Come in for the Baroness and Chat Pile show in November then do Burna when he comes to town. I'd vote for that too. After Tuesday I'd probably go to this show if I wasn't already seeing Trevor Noah that night

So here’s a question, I’m contemplating seeing Dylan next weekend, what’s everyone’s thoughts on his live show? Is it worth it? Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated! Kind of going in with the mindset that he’s 82 and I’ve never seen him before so since I have the opportunity, I should probably do it to have him in the trapper keeper, but is it worth it? Read and heard a lot of mixed things about him live.

You should see him. I saw him 20 years ago and thought it would be boring, but , he is Bob Dylan, you know? It turned out to be a really good show.

I thought he sounded good (all things considered) at UIC in 2019, even hitting some high notes on Highway 61 Revisited. Go see him while you have the chance.

Usually if the question is “should I see one of the greatest songwriters who has ever lived” the answer is yes

Only saw Dylan at that soccer stadium show with Jacket and Wilco. I didn’t care for the set….left a little early. But I’ve heard enough Dylan people defend his shoes to death. That show wasn’t my thing, but glad I went and made my mind up for myself.
I do enjoy the arrangements on the new album. If that’s how he is playing them it could be an enjoyable show.

I’m contemplating seeing Dylan next weekend I’ve seen him at least once in each of the previous four decades, most recently at Beacon Theatre before the pandemic. As a huge Dylan fan I thought it was okay, but didn’t feel like I’d need to see him again. However… He did a short set at Farm Aid last weekend where he a) played electric guitar rather than keyboards and b) performed “Maggie’s Farm”, “Positively 4th Street”, and “Ballad of a Thin Man”. This makes me want to grab a ticket for one of his shows here in November. If nothing else, get him in the ol’ TK.

Would be cool if he adds the songs he did at farmaid to the setlist for this stretch. Not holding my breath though.
Damn doso beat me to it

I'm admittedly biased as I was raised in a Dylan home, but I've enjoyed every time I've seen him. Yes, he's going to sound like an old man and the songs are going to be reworked such that you might not immediately recognize them, but he always has a tight band and approaches every show like an absolute pro. Very excited to see him on this tour.

That's enough convincing for me! Grabbed a ticket for next Saturday's show at the Cadillac Palace! Never been to a show there and have never seen Dylan, so I'm pretty excited for both! Thanks for helping me make the decision, guys!

Poor ticket sales. If/when they try again I suspect it will be in smaller venues.

That Arooj Aftab show that did not have a home here on the 11th will be at Harris theater, which is the one right behind Pritzker Pavilion on Randolph. Tickets are 50% off through Goldstar if anyone is interested

I wonder if Foos are playing Lolla again or if there's a Wrigley show tba?

The gap in between Minneapolis and Denver is during the week. I think a couple nights at Wrigley makes sense.

But why would Wrigley be held off? Cubs are gone until 8/1. That would also most likely be the Thursday of Lolla.
