Awwww shit new U2 sphere dates dropped!
U2 began their 25-show run at Las Vegas’ new $1 billion immersive venue, Sphere, on September 29, playing Achtung Baby in full, including deep cuts they haven’t dusted off since the ’90s to go along with those jaw-dropping visuals. Shows were set to run through December 16, but the New York Post recently reported that U2’s stay at the venue would be extended while James Dolan and Sphere Entertainment look for the next artist to fill it, a potentially costly undertaking when considering the cost of developing a new production, complete with visuals for the 16K-resolution screens. U2 have now officially announced 11 addition dates in January and February, bringing their total to 26 shows. The new dates are scheduled for January 26, 27, 31, and February 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 15, 17, and 18, and tickets go on sale Wednesday, October 25 at 11 AM PT. U2.com subscribers are eligible to submit a ticket request for the new dates from Thursday, October 19 at 10 AM PT – Saturday, October 21 at 10 AM PT.

They have an Aronofsky movie lined up, but I had read somewhere that U2 is going to end up playing something like 45 dates when all is said and done.

I read somewhere it was likely Harry Styles (maybe starting in March), and they tried to get Phish for NYE run this year but it didn't work out.

I know obviously maximizing the visuals it wouldn't be worth it to do just one show there, but do they plan as of now to do toned down single shows there eventhally? Or forever residencies with the full visual experience?
