18 dates, each weekend from May 16 to June 22 (of course it will be extended after that) I'm far from a Dead & Co hater - at least around these parts - but something about this project concluding with an extended Vegas residency is both fitting and sad.

Let’s not forget the last time they did a show for Kina Collins, tickets were over $180, they were about an hour and a half late, and it was a pretty bad show.

I haven't seen the Strokes in over a decade so I'm inclined to go to that if tickets are reasonable, but I don't want to have to report a political contribution (assuming that's the case again). If anyone plans on buying LMK, or maybe I can look into buying a ticket under MPH's name.

Posted about this a while back, but there's an opening date/show for the new venue in Colorado Springs:
The Sunset Amphitheater is a brand new 8,000-capacity, state of the art venue in Colorado Springs, Colorado developed by Notes Live and programmed / operated by AEG Presents Rocky Mountains.
Currently under construction, Sunset Amphitheater will offer an unparalleled concert experience with world-class music and sound, plus stunning views of the sun setting over Pikes Peak, flanked by the Air Force Academy stadium and the renowned Air Force glass chapel.
With 90 VIP luxury firepit suites, plus fine dining restaurants and bars on-site, you’ll have an unforgettable time here no matter where you land.
Our first show has just announced, OneRepublic on Friday, Aug, 9th, and we're just getting started so be sure to follow along for more updates.

Beautiful spot for a venue. I don't think they'll siphon off too much business from the Denver market since i-25 is a nightmare and it'd be at least a 2 hour roundtrip, but I'm curious to see if bands just start adding another Colorado leg onto their tours or if it just ends up getting the typical Colorado Springs show (KISS-adjacent bands and bad country).

I know The Strokes gig is a benefit show but as long as it's not a completely idiotic amount of money I'll try to go. That's a really good bill. I haven't seen them since 2015. Danny Davis is retiring I think so that spot is up for grabs?

Should The Strokes raise money for candidates in swing states or should they raise money for a perennial loser trying to primary someone who votes the same way she will 99% of the time

Here’s why the Dead and Co sphere shows are actually good news for a potential Furthur reunion

Danny Davis is retiring I think so that spot is up for grabs? I keep searching, but I can find no statement from him that he is actually retiring. He is going to have at least 3 primary challengers so far, including the city treasurer, Kina Collins may lose a primary to him or someone else for the thrid time.

Strokes tix were $120 all in for the floor, which seems almost reasonable given the bill/state of ticketing today. Never thought I'd get to see them again so I'm stoked

Those are gonna sell like shit. I feel like they will sell well initially but the secondary market will be soft leading up to the shows. I will look at prices when they go on sale next week but since it's a Live Nation show I'm sure it will be expensive. Assuming that's the case, I'm inclined to wait. Friday & Saturday sold out, "limited" tickets still available for Sunday & Monday. My buddy bought Friday tickets during the presale even though I told him I wanted to wait it out but I guess I'm glad he did. They were just under $100 all in which sucks. I hate buying tickets in 2024.
