Can’t believe I’m gonna sit through The Snore on Drugs to see a band that I like that released 2 albums I didn’t care for last year. I have a problem fwiw I didn't really like The National's last album but those shows at Auditorium Theatre last year were excellent.

I have absolutely no desire to go to the UC and have to suffer through the War on Drugs. I'll consider that Madison show so I can ignore them with thebosma

TWOD are great. At this point I'm more excited to see them than The National. I'll be at the United Center show for sure.

Damnit I wanted a WoD tour this year but not as an opener wtf. Might still go, but I feel like I've seen The National enough times by now. Oh well.

co-headlining probably means like 80-minute sets instead of typical 2-hour sets for them.
i like the national and the war on drugs. both have recently released some underwhelming albums but can be really great live bands.

Frankenstein tracks actually have drums live which helps them a decent bit They also decided to actually start having fun with the setlists last year which was nice

My take is that any War on Drugs album from Slave Ambient onward is better than every National album since High Violet.

my only PJ Harvey show was at the riv in 2004 where the opener was jeff moris tepper / josh klinghoffer, and klinghoffer played with pj after opening. can't believe it was 2 decades ago.

Seems perfectly appropriate for a boring band to be paired with another boring band. Not sure what the issue is.

am assuming you mean turnpike, alady, as lucero has played riot fest twice, including opening for jawbreaker there.
edit: turnpike played windy city smokeout when it was underneath the ohio street feeder ramp of the kennedy expressway the day chris young headlined.

This Turnpike thing of announcing one show a week is driving me a little crazy. I need a proper show here

I think Evan is capping it at 40 shows / yr. They're announcing one at a time since he needs to double check his math and make sure they aren't at 40 yet.

Turnpike is when I’m in Vegas. The national/war on drugs would’ve been cool in 2016 but now it just seems annoying, especially at the United Center.
