What is a show in a football stadium even like? Is it enjoyable at all? I kind of forgot I ever attended this show until this conversation got brought up, but I saw Metallica at Soldier Field last year and it ruuuuuuuuled. Football stadium shows are awesome. TBF we were on the field and Bosma is talking about being up in the nosebleeds. I imagine that makes for a much different experience.

I saw the Stones as well as that JT/Jay-Z tour from stadium nosebleeds and disliked both experiences.

I’ve been on the field and in the nosebleeds for stadium shows and I’m a fan. Artists have huge stage productions for those shows which makes a huge difference.

I actually like the stadium shows where there is an interesting installation as part of the show. Like some of the U2 stadium shows are at least different.
And opening acts in stadium are usually comical. Seeing the post Carlos D version of Interpol playing to a 1/5th full Soldier Field was equal parts sad and funny.

Very upset that Malkmus is the same night as Byrne. I've really enjoyed the two shows of his that I've seen and I'm not even that big of a Pavement fan.

And opening acts in stadium are usually comical. traffic opening for the dead in '94 at soldier field was excellent. old dominion, chase rice, brantley gilbert, and miranda lambert opening for kenny chesney at soldier field was meh. (although the tix for nosebleed seats were free thanx to a pal of the better half's, and we didn't stay for chesney, as we had seen him at tinley park during the '05 farm aid there).

If I end up going to Sasquatch I may sell the Byrne tickets? Idk. Either way Malkbox is kind of sounding more appealing at the moment.

That Poison tour really should have just been announced with a Groupon BOGO link. Who are they kidding? No Groupon for this one yet, but they have BOGO pricing for that Paul Rodgers/Jeff Beck/Ann Wilson tour.

Outside of the incessant posting about him from Pitchfork, I had no idea he was popular.

Outside of the incessant posting about him from Pitchfork, I had no idea he was popular. I had a facebook friend pay $100+ to see him at the Vic last year on the secondhand market. The youths love him

In case anyone cares, the ticket lottery is now open for all the PJ shows through Ten Club. Both GA and reserved seats are listed at $245 a pair.
