Coheed and Cambria just posted a date with Taking Back Sunday Aug 2nd in Sugar Land, TX I would guess that will be a full tour, can't find other dates yet tho I don't like the idea of this tour for Coheed as this seems to place them firmly into the "no longer relevant nostalgia act" stage of their career. I'm a fan of both bands, but Coheed has seemingly fought to stay current and continue to release quality material (and tour with new/current bands) whereas TBS has been embracing the nostalgia circuit for years now.

I see the comment in a subreddit now. But then, someone else indicated that Toyota Park is booked for the weekend he supposedly referenced. I don't think any of this is particularly noteworthy. Something is certainly up, as usually they've announced their lineup by now. It would be wise on their part to not conflict with P4K going forward, IMO.

pitchfork moved weekends this year due to the taste. have to imagine open air would also move to avoid conflicting with the taste.

Didn't Coheed do a throwback album tour last year?

You're right. 2012 was the first year of the reformatted Taste, so it's possible P4K had already been issued their permit before Rahm decided to move the Taste away from the 4th of July. I didn't even notice there were two weekends in between P4K and Lolla last year, isn't it usually only one?

Didn't Coheed do a throwback album tour last year? I don't think doing a throwback album tour or set instantly makes a band definable as a nostalgia act. There are plenty of bands who do a good job of rotating those throwback sets with new albums (and ensuing tours to support them) they're actually trying to push enough to stay relevant.
My point is that Coheed fans actually get excited about new Coheed albums and want to hear those songs live, in addition to the hits. People generally only go to TBS shows to hear songs from the 3 albums most people actually care about, and they mostly tour with bands whose fanbases share the same mindset. See: The Used, Dashboard Confessional, etc.

Seriously, I need GA for that Radiohead show! I've not been more than two rows back in between Ed and Thom when I've seen them. Don't see any info about a W.A.S.T.E pre sale? Anyone have info about that?
