the livenation ticket to ride thing with Slipknot/Korn is on sale despite not having the date breakdowns of each show yet so i guess you HAVE to just buy blind if you want the deal and then see which shows you can make it to? The tours are as follows: Slipknot Volbeat Behemoth Gojira Korn Alice in Chains Underoath Breaking Benjamin + Chevelle

Volbeat is one of those bands that really should hit my guilty pleasure sweet spot but they do nothing for me. On any level. Not really heavy, not buttrocky enough, just kind of boring.
Latter era Slipknot has morphed into a slightly harder version of Stone Sour so they are really in my buttrock wheelhouse

Did Local Natives sell out the Riv last time they were here? Trying to decide if I should pick up a presale ticket or wait for Jukely/Stubhub

Trying to decide if I should pick up a presale ticket or wait for Jukely/Stubhub When they were here at Concord for the Mamby aftershow, that wasn't sold out, but it was pretty close. I'm guessing these will sell out in a few days, but who knows...

Trying to decide if I should pick up a presale ticket or wait for Jukely/Stubhub The show at the Riv was not sold out, but I'd say it was probably at about 90% capacity. I got in through Jukely though, so lots of attendees might have been comps etc. As mookie said when they did the Mamby after at Concord it was also not sold out, even with a last minute $20 ticket sale and lots of giveaways. With that said, after a couple of years away I would expect them to sell out two nights at Thalia very easily. If you want to go I wouldn't leave yourself at the mercy of the secondary market.

Factor in too that Middle Kids sold out LH when they were last here.

I fully get the impression that Stone Sour exists solely so that Corey can go 100% buttrock without feeling judged or having to argue whether or not it's on brand. But the albums don't even sound that different anymore to me.

I suppose if you want to sit on the lawn for all these shows, the deal is fine. The seats available, though, are really awful.
None of those shows is going to come anywhere near selling out. I'm interested in the Slipknot bill, and I'd sit through the other shows if I had nothing better to do. I have to think the way to play it is still to just sit tight and wait for the discounts and deals to roll in.

Flipper is doing a 40th Anniversary Tour. They will be at Reggie's in Chicago on 6/28, and St. Louis on 6/29. David Yow will be on vocals for the STL show, probably the rest of the tour too, I couldn't find any more tour dates besides these and a few in California.
Anyways, I just bought 1 for the STL show, REALLY FUCKING EXCITED!!!

Any idea if there’s another act on the SVE bill tonight other than Nilufer Yanya?

If anyone is contemplating the Miya Folik show at Schubas next week, it's on last call. They added a really good local opener, Gia Margaret, too.

Got a jukely spot for Bob Mould Friday, so i'm happy about that. If I go to Le Butcherettes next week as well, that will be 10 concerts in February for me. That has to be a first for me.
