Just bought tickets for Fred Armisen on Wednesday. Haven't seen his new standup, let's hope this isn't terrible. Are you sure it's not a musical performance? That's what he is doing here there are instruments involved but if it's like his netflix special, not sure i'd call it a musical performance

Just bought tickets for Fred Armisen on Wednesday. Haven't seen his new standup, let's hope this isn't terrible. he wasn't yet a comedian when I saw him and his band open for bow wow wow at the empty bottle. edit: sometime after 2/23/98: Fred Armisen y su Menajos de Carracas -> Bow Wow Wow with Annabella Lwin, Larry Gorman, and Dave Calhoun.

That Korn/AIC show will sell really bad. That's where you really feel the absence of those touring Monster/Rockstar Energy fests. You would get a couple extra acts to pad the lineup for different demographics like dad metal (Testament, Exodus, etc) and Hot Topic metal (Asking Alexandria, BFMV) and it made a difference. Most notably that it would give the cover of saying you were going to a metal fest and not buying tickets for a Korn show in 2019.

Korn has been the biggest draw at any buttrock fest i've attended any year for the past decade. and paying < $80 for AIC nowadays is apparently a bargain. i think it'll do the best out of the three Ticket to Rock shows but paying $70+fees or whatever for a 3-show-pass is probably still kind of a ripoff if you just wanna be on the lawn

Maybe I don't have a good enough grasp on Tinley demand I just feel like Korn and AIC have toured so much that it's really for diehards only. Maybe I'm underselling how big the Korn diehard base still is.
If some of these shows were at anywhere but Tinley I'd be moderately interested.

suburbanites/downstaters will show up in droves for either (granted AIC is playing peoria on this run but it's insanely expensive)
that's honestly what's probably hurting COA the most -- the non-chicago attendees easily outweighed the city folk and this year they avoided all the downstater favorites (Slipknot, 5FDP, Korn, Zombie, etc.) AND they upped the price.
a lot of my farmland friends will drive to Tinley for one evening a month for 2-3 acts over having to stay at a hotel for the weekend and see System and Tool spread out over 2 nights

It was Brooklyn Vegan. I went back and checked after I posted but it wasn’t listed on the site.

Actually looks like it might be some band called The Fever 333 they're at COA so that would be real funny to see another band double dip between Open Air and the Tinley shows (i wouldnt be surprised in the least)

Fever 333 were the best and most exciting band I saw at riot fest 2018. they are a lean and mean version of ratm. i wasnt onboard with the resurgence of rap-rock/core/metal recently and so far a lot of those bands havent really been "my thing" (in that it just sounds like rehashed hed p.e. or mushroomhead) but i will say im glad to see rock bands are ready to get more active in social matters again and call out their shithead predecessors for enabling the MAGA bullshit in that industry and saying that politics has no place in music.

Big Thief & Palehound at Metro 10/18. Oh hell yeah. I assumed they would be playing bigger venues than the Metro by then. That will sell out for sure.
