We had a dude start at work recently. He told me he couldn’t make a Tuesday evening meeting due to prior obligations. It’s his anniversary. He spent a ton of money on tickets. $175 on super close tickets. Oh that’s awesome. Who are you seeing? Bret Michaels in St. Charles, IL. no charge to see bret in elk grove village later this summer: www.elkgrove.org/visitors/mid-summer-classics-concert-series

the enterprise center didn't exist when I lived in StL. what was demolished in order to build it? kiel auditorium / opera house? a parking lot? bingo, and it was the kiel center for a long time before (several other things, and then) enterprise center can only remember seeing these shows at kiel auditorium (never saw a show at kiel opera house): nightranger opening for sabbath w/o ozzy; ry cooder opening for Clapton around the time of money and cigarettes.

Edit: I think they deleted the tweet, Stella Donnely had to cancel her tour dates this week, including LH. Also, Paul Cherry is replacing her. So, yeah, refunds are available Hope everything's alright. She posted something on Instagram this morning about "health issues that have not been resolved" and said that she'll share more info in coming weeks.

I've only ever seen them from the top of the lawn at Alpine, or at Wrigley, and while they've all been extremely memorable in their own ways...I want a PJ arena show. I'll bite one more time.
edit: just got some confirmation that all tix are priced at $98 (it's not just a 10c thing, which I originally wondered) and with fees they'll come out to about $120 a pop.

Last time I saw them was when they last played STL at the arena. It was a great show - 3 hours long and full of hits, fan favorites, and rarities.

Saw my first ever real (not local) concert at the kiel center, Family Values Tour '99..
Good times..
Good times
edit: Anyway, back on topic, I signed up for the verified fan sale in StL.. Ticketmaster made me change my password and give them a 1-time code 3 times just to be eligible.

I guess Pearl Jam hates Texas. ACL is like the only thing they ever do here i saw them in dallas in '13. and okc the night after - great 2-night stand! Setlist.fm says that Dallas show and their ACL shows are the only Texas shows they've done since 2003, so I'm gonna conclude that they do in fact hate Texas

nanafish doesn't meet pale hose when anthrax plays the vic. nanafish doesn't meet claypoolfan when the folk implosion plays tower on clerk. nanafish doesn't meet discountsounds when soundgarden opens for soul asylum at metro, nor when the replacements play petrillo on the 4th of july 3 yrs later.

This is a general question but I know at least chvrchbarrel will probably have insight Is it just not logistically possible to have an affordable arena show? I feel like every artist that comes through thats arguably playing up, like bigger venue than they probably should be, still charges a shit ton even though there's a ton more seats. Tame Impala at the arena here looks like it's sold terribly, and it's probably partly because nosebleeds start at $52 before fees. And the lower bowl is selling even worse than the upper bowls and those are like $85 before fees which is kind of ridiculous. And we saw Chance cancel his whole tour due to sales and a lot of that had to be due to the high ticket costs. And I feel like it happens with nearly every indie band that plays arenas outside of NYC and LA. Does the production costs and crew and stuff that an arena show requires just cost a ton and force their hand, or are whoever sets these ticket prices just really terrible at finding the happy medium with cost and demand? I gotta imagine they aren't making a huge profit with a half empty arena regardless of price Question: What's the cheapest P1 / lower bowl ticket you have bought for an arena show? Do not count times you bought a cheap nosebleed ticket and were re-located to the lower bowl. I think my answer would be Miley Cyrus on the Bangerz tour (2014); I think P1 was like $70. The Black Keys' El Camino tour (2012) might have been a smidge lower at around $55-60. Aerosmith at the UC was $45 for seated floor in 1994. The Black Keys at the UC was $59 for GA floor in 2012. Muse at the UC was $69.50 for GA floor in 2016. Arcade Fire at the UC was $85 for GA floor in 2017. Paul Simon at the UC was $125 for seated floor in 2018 (and there were more expensive seats at the front). Inflation has consistently hovered around 3% for the last decade, yet ticket prices have more than doubled in the last decade.

Would you consider a show like Aerosmith in ‘94 “harder to get tickets to” than, say, the Paul Simon or Arcade Fire shows? (I assume this is your ticket data and that you’ve been to the shows you mentioned.)

(I assume this is your ticket data and that you’ve been to the shows you mentioned.) It's hard to say, because buying tickets back then involved standing in line rather than waiting online. Of the three shows you mentioned, Aerosmith was certainly the biggest draw at the time of the show (they probably still are). With that said, if you were willing to line up early enough (I was), getting tickets was not really an issue back then. The only time I got shut out lining up was for the Dead at Soldier Field, and that was because they used a lottery system, I drew a shitty number, and there were just too many Deadheads.

Yeah Aerosmith was a red hott ticket in 94. That was during the Alicia Silverstone video era.
