One time I was in the beer garden at Coachella drinking an $11 mixed drink and Grouplove started so I dumped the whole thing out so that I could leave the beer garden and not hear them. This will be my sole contribution to the discussion of this band. Did you dump it in your stomach

It was like an alcoholic smoothie so quick consumption was not really a viable option

Maybe it was because the security at park west was tremendously rude to me, maybe it was because the band sounded like fucking dogshit, but I’m the everything enjoyer and I didn’t have a good time.

Park West sucks, it's the dumbest venue. The whole building is just a giant fire hazard.

I’ve only had good experiences there outside of that. Was just a weird night.

Grouplove sucks ass live nobody should be seeing them That was exactly how I felt about both bands when I saw Grouplove and The 1975 back to back at LouFest 2014

One entrance/exit for the entire building, one bathroom for each sex in the most inconvenient place, expensive drinks with a rude staff to boot, and people will yell at you if you stand to watch the show. Knock it down.

Knock it down. Yeah, people got shitty with me for standing in the balcony at the Cold War Kids Lolla Aftershow there.. Only time I've ever been there though.

My friends who love the Riv also love this place. I truly don't get it.

They could also be playing whatever the Q101 summer show is called. Good guess, it looks like they're actually playing one of the free WKQX shows. mookie it's in your backyard! I definitely would want to go to this, because when I missed Eminem and Chicago lolla 2011, I missed this band, walk the moon, and young the giant, all of whom apparently had one radio hit at the time, and all of which I have trouble telling apart. thankfully Young the g was at riot fest 2 yrs ago, so after this show all the trapper keeper will be missing are the shut up and dance dudes.

idk - even though it’s a death trap, the Park West is ok if it’s a seated show that makes sense being a seated show. *shrug*

My favorite Park West story: I went there in August 2008 to see She & Him. I got there early, so I was right on the side of the stage. They had extra security there that night because Zooey, and one of them was standing next to me the whole time. I was wearing my Mr. November shirt from The National with a big picture of Obama on it. The security guy spent most of the night saying how Obama was going to send every kid to work camp and all this other right wing conspiracy thing. That was tons of fun.

Man the Grouplove hate in here is strong. I've seen them a few times and they're a fun show. Their music isn't groundbreaking but I always have a good time. I'll probably go to their Indy show.

Also is Ryan Rabin no longer in that band? Or is that him on the left with long hair and a beard? I can't tell. Following up on this, since it's evident we've got so many Grouplove fanboys here, that is in fact not Ryan Raybin in the promo pic. Apparently he left the band and they never announced it (they did the same thing with the original bassist as well), and the man in that pic is former Dashboard Confessional drummer Benjamin Homola. Sorry for the bad news, Groupheads (Loveheads?).

a source (that i actually trust and has been correct on most things chicago thus far) is saying United Center for Rammstein. no date yet. so that's nice! ah their IG story just posted a picture of Soldier Field. bright side is that there's no way they're selling that out on their own so tickets should be easier to snag
