No joke there's a place in Anchorage, Alaska that is one of the best pizza places I've ever been to I ate from it like five times in the three weeks I was there because I just couldn't stop, and pizza is normally a pretty rare thing for me. Called Moose's Tooth. Highly recommend if you are ever in Alaska for any reason

According to Wiki
The pizzeria is known for its Apricot pie which consists of apricot sauce, carrots, cream cheese and chicken.
It sounds revolting but I feel like I'd have to try it.

I actually did not try that one and was not recommended that one at any point by the people there but fuck it I would have tried it if they had

Naf Naf is my go to for Mediterranean lunch food in the loop. Dig Naf Naf, too. I had both close by when I was in the Prudential building, but there isn't a Naf Naf as close to this office. Washington and Franklin is near(ish) you, right?

On Monroe. Less than 2 miles from Uptown. Google Sals Pizza Factory (I hate that name but it's legit).

neader I found DiFara to be completely underwhelming. Nothing wrong with it; just not worth the trek and the wait imo. I hope you like it better than I did. Also, your plan is incomplete if you don't make an effort to get into Emily or Emmy Squared (the latter takes reservations, so that shouldn't be an issue).

There's an Emmy Squared in Nashville and I'll be there two weeks before so I plan on doing it there.
Emily was on my list but then I took it off. I'll try to squeeze it in.
I've been hearing that a lot about DiFara unfortunately, out of all the places it seems to be the most polarizing. I'll be out there anyway to visit Coney Island so the trek isn't really a bother.

The salad is very good - pretty standard Mediterranean stuff. I usually get it with falafel. It's been a minute since I have had the shawarma, but it was good. Taza reminds me of Pita Inn as far as food goes. Hope that helps. irt alady

Quick za question. Let’s say I brought some of last nights za to reheat at work. Instead of bringing it inside I accidentally left it in my car. It’s 44 degrees outside, however my car was in a heated garage before I left for work, so it probably took a minute for it to cool down to a lower temp. If I put the za in my car around 7:35, do you think its safe to eat for lunch? Bear in mind you hold no responsibility for me in my head if I get sick

Good call re: Emmy Squared. I like it better than Emily. If you go to Emily, then I recommend the Bee Sting pizza. I think there's a Totono's or whatever the fuck it's called out on Coney Island. Can't remember if you added it to your itinerary, but I'd skip it. Fine, but completely unremarkable like all the food I've ever sampled around there. I mean, it's best to do just do Nathan's when visiting Coney Island (I understand this doesn't fit in with the za plan). Whatever you do, never go to Wahlburgers. We made that mistake once when we just needed a place to sit down with the kids when they were younger during a crowded day. Woof.

I ate it. It tasted kinda funny but I’ll attribute that to the fact that it was in foil.
Or something
As always, thanks for your help, theboarddot

Like a Chipotle salad it maintains that thin veneer of being a "healthy" lunch though we all know it's not.

No kidding? I think it's super average. I mean, full disclaimer: I was raised on Chicago-style pizza. I'm not talking deep dish (though I do love deep dish); I'm talking the medium crust pie that's cut into square and can adequately support three to four toppings. I don't hate NYC pizza, but I'm not easily impressed with it. There was a place on St. Mark's where we used to go after shows in the '90s that was the perfect NYC slice, but it's long gone. Oh, speaking of deep dish, if you want to be weird and get authentic deep dish pizza in NYC, the place to go is Emmett's (50 Macdougal Street). They also do an overpriced Chicago Hot Dog and Italian Beef. I haven't sampled those, but the deep dish is legit.

We had decent pizza in St. Louis yesterday in a place right across the street from City Museum. One reason I went there was I really wanted toasted ravioli somewhere before we left, and it was on their menu. We tried to order it, and they were somehow “out of it” at 1 on a Friday afternoon...
I probably gave the waitress a pretty puzzled look. The pizza wasn’t bad though, they had BBQ sauce as an optional sauce, so I am always happy with that.
And I think STL is a very pro-Pepsi town, so that is a major strike against them
