They straight up knocked that barrier down. Hulk smash If you believe CPD and Lolla's side of the story they made it past the first set of barriers but nobody actually made it past all of them and into the fest.

This was a fantastic day Everything I saw today was great but the highlights were Janelle, Tame, Maggie Rogers and Boy Pablo. Janelle’s production was insane. I’ve never seen a subheadliner with that kind of setup. Tame Impala were totally on point and their light show- lasers were A+

I was mostly looking forward to IDLES and Janelle Monae today, and neither disappointed. I was so tired after both performances. Tame's light show was phenomenal, and Gambino brought great energy.
The best find of the day was the New Respects at BMI - those ladies were awesome. And Against the Current is going to big one day; super catchy tracks.

The Tribune article about the incident contains a quite saying none of those kids got past the second barrier. It does state that a second group was successful hopping over the fence at the far south end of the Hutchinson though. The tradition lives on.

Same deal as with the 4 days, you can find them on the Lolla secondary market site for the same price. They moved them there so they could call the fest "sold out". Both Thursday and Friday sold well below face on StubHub, I'm guessing that will happen tomorrow as well. I believe Grant Park is mostly full. The weather is beautiful, they gave away tons of tickets, and kids are jumping over fences in droves.

I agree they are not in trouble, but it might behoove them to reconsider the target demo when booking the lineup moving forward. Kot wrote that the promoters shared the median age dropped from 25 to 20 over the last few years. I'm no economist, but I would guess someone in their mid 20s has more money to spend then a 20 year old, who can't even buy booze legally.
Do the kids at Perry's even buy booze anymore?

My gut feel is that the attendance is a little lighter than usual. Columbus feels a bit emptier later in the day but it is still crowded.

I'm sure people were buying booze at Perry's, but no line at 7 something on Friday evening used to not be a thing.
I'm not saying there's going to be a massive overhaul, but Live Nation has shown a willingness to make adjustments when profits are down (Bonnaroo for example).

To be fair, that picture is of one of the limited bars that only sold a condensed selection of Beer and Water. I haven't encounted a regular bar with no one at it, and those limited bars seem to be tucked in random places in the park where people probably aren't thinking about getting drinks. However, there may be less buying in general because I haven't had to wait in a bar line that was longer than about 3 people deep all weekend.

I 100% agree with this. There's only so many parents that will buy their kids tickets to this and it's causing them to not sell out like usual. Hopefully they realize that for next year and book an "older" appealing line up.

Funny side note...at around 6:30, when food lines were at their peak, it looked like it was going to take forever to get food based on the lines at the vendors on the ends closer to the main stages, but the lines were all short at the vendors at the middle of the grounds.
People would much rather wait in line than walk further, it seems.

Highlight of yesterday was seeing the old cranky dude at Chevelle get so pissed at the woman who bopped him with a unicorn baloon that he nearly started a fight
Janelle was the act of the day of course. I don't understand how the field wasn't more packed for her. I would agree that if rhe day was not sold out yesterday, it had to be really damn close

J Balvin's set was the most fun I've had without the board (with the exception of Bosma being there for a bit) at a lolla headliner. God level.
