I honestly believe it will be Perry. He was on WGN talking about registering people to vote and the tweet mentions head count. The little stage has three mics set up on it. Perry and who? 🤔 I'm at the stage now and there are only two mics. I guess Slash is out. |

Rosalia was perfect. Whoever scheduled this fest fucked up by putting her on the shell but she brought a significant amount of stage production with her and it worked

I definitely prefer the Kacey aftershow compared to her fest set. Very surprised she didn't do Follow Your Arrow.

I couldn't bring myself to eat Edzo's cheeseburger puff during the heat of the day but I finally got one walking out tonight. Easily the best thing I ate all weekend.
I actually met the owner on Friday when he sat down at the same table as me. Nice guy. Told me the puff was a custom formula from the place they order their regular puff so hopefully it did well enough to make a return in the future.

I mostly managed to fill my time pretty well and other than Ghostmane (I don't know how anybody likes that shit) I enjoyed everything I saw.

Just gonna throw in my 2 cents. The fest has it's issues, as it always has, but I didn't see a single set I didn't like this weekend. That's about all I have to say.

Someone is doing a pop up performance at Buckingham at 4pm. I know I'm a day late on this, but I have to share the backstory on Perry's pop-up.
At about 2PM, fest radio gets on to tell anyone that has a radio that this is happening. We hear "It's not going to be publicized in ANY way. You can tell your staff/team/volunteers/whatever that this is happening and we'd like to get the info out by word of mouth ONLY."
OK...I've got a couple dozen people, make my way around to tell them to "casually let out" that this is happening anytime they interact with the public.
NOT ONE of my people knew who Perry Ferrel is. Not a single person.
Whoever dreamed up the "word of mouth only" campaign is probably no longer with Lolla as of this morning.

Yeah it’s packed now too, it’s a little weird Bag lines at the Monroe entrance are the longest I've seen at this time of day too Moved from another response....I think this is where these comments belong:
Although there were a couple of times over the weekend when things were organically long, in other situations (and there were a LOT) they became long because of expected (and/or real) mob action.
There are eyes everywhere, electronic and live, watching group action along the streets you would expect.
If/When something looked about to kickoff, things were slowed (unfortunately) to try to make sure that no one got hurt in case a crowd got past the front lines. I guess it would suck if it added 30 minutes to your bag line wait, but if that 30 minutes also prevented you from getting plowed over by 50 asshats, maybe not.
I'm never going to suggest that I understand the "best way" to account for all circumstances and you can certainly say good/bad things about how security was handled, just know there's a lot going on that you'll never see or hear about, and almost all of that is in the concern of safety.

I read somewhere that the bodega stands were selling lighters, but that doesn't make a lot of sense if the reason they were confiscating lighters is that smoking wasn't allowed. |
