The 1975 could only play on Thursday at this point and they’d have to be traveling to/from Europe. Seems pretty unlikely they’re booked. really? seems like they dont have any shows booked between july 26 and august 6.

personally i will fly from europe to the us to get mega paid by lolla, osheaga, and whatever fest aeg throws out to replace fyf. semi-related: i like how the FYF website is a picture of the letters toppled over: fyffest.com/also: why does fyf's email signup list have one question and that question is "are you in Canada?" is fyf moving to...canada? fyffest.com/email-signup

Huh that makes me think about what's gonna happen with legal redacted here in re festivals, etc. Can you redact at fests in California rn?

I could be wrong but I remember reading the issue is that a lot of these are national companies that have to comply with national laws or something. So a lot of fests “don’t let you”

You can't openly bring it in, as I expensively learned.

Yep, pretty much every legalization passed has been explicitly for private home use only.

Wonder if they would be top 4 I don't think they would be at this point but also don't think it matters all that much

FWIW the last time the Strokes were doing US fests (2014-2016?) they headlined every single one including ACL. I don't think that would change.

They kind of were "sub" headliners at Gov Ball in 2014. They played before Jack White on the main stage on Saturday.

A few less mentioned possibilities because I'm bored:
Disclosure has a few shows slated for Europe in early July. Wouldn't be surprised to see them come stateside for this and some of the other late summer fests.
Sia has been almost entirely off the map since her Christmas album last year, and would be a big first time get for Lolla. That said, there's no solid rumors of a new album on the horizon and her last stage show was pretty elaborate, so having something on the road by August seems pretty aggressive.

Boy, people REALLY don't want me to go to Lolla this year, do they?

Foo Fighters and Tame Impala are a pretty bad potential start for me but I’m getting more and more concerned that all of my headliner wishes are unlikely to the point with which they won’t happen.

I don’t see a universe where The Strokes playing Chicago for the first time in years isn’t a top 4 billing.

I don't think them being outside the top four is too big of a stretch. 8 is probably too low tho
