any american flight i've been on for the last few years that lasts more than 2 hours has had screens built into the headrests with free games, a decent movie library of new releases, some ebook samples, and other stuff. it's pretty neat. Yeah, they had this on my flight from Vegas, it was awesome. They had like a dozen Austin City LImits eps on there with TVOTR and Jason Isbell and others. this is exactly what i did on the way back from toronto yesterday. also, great trip and thanks ten15 for the recs. i did la carnita for dinner on thursday and it was great. they had a a special with a sol and shot of tequila for $9 which was perfect after a long day of traveling. st. lawrence market and hockey hof were also good. ... but the blues beating the leafs was the best. |

I've found I can only fall asleep on an airplane if I have a window seat. I'm keeping that in mind when booking future long flights. I can't sit by the window because I need to be able to get up and out easily if necessary. Aisle seat + neck pillow FTW. |

I am actually a recent neck pillow convert.
Also, whenever I play my Switch as a portable rather than docked at home, I'm usually mostly in awe of the fact that I'm playing such high-quality games on a handheld device. That's pretty nuts when you think about how far we've come.

That's better than being accused of trying to hide from the mob because I don't have a beard or glasses in my DL picture. That's a joke that has been made numerous times. Why the mob, I do not know.
And my neck pillow is super stiff. I'd love to actually be able to use one that was comfortable and see if it helps me sleep. Part of my issue with sleeping on planes stems from a paranoia that I'm going to accidentally headbutt the person beside me when I wake up (because that almost happened once).

i have the burton hoodie with a blow-up neck pillow and sleep mask built in. that is easily the best travel clothing i've ever owned. i got more compliments about that on planes than anything else. unfortunately, there's a leak in the pillow now and i can't find a replacement.

On the way back from Colombia at O’Hare I got interrogated for 1.5 hours because as a single male there’s apparently no reason you’d go there unless you were a drug mule or you were sex trafficking.
“Is this really a bag of coffee??”
“You wanna open it and find out?”
“No buddy.” Borders and Customs agent sniffs it and throws it on to a table nearby which breaks it open and makes a huge mess.
“Did you make any special friend there? Men or women? Did you pay these special friends?”
Dude unzipped the lining of my suitcase and threw all my stuff into a pile on the floor.
Kept making accusations that I bought hookers there and that he can prove it.
Offer to show the guy my Instagram and souvenirs I bought and he declines and starts asking me who my contact to buy cocain was.
Entire time he talked in this totally fake mobster accent like it was an actual “bad cop” routine he was acting out.
Eventually he gave up and gave this stupid shrug and then I had to pay $30 extra to my limo for being so late.

On the way back from Colombia at O’Hare I got interrogated for 1.5 hours because as a single male there’s apparently no reason you’d go there unless you were a drug mule or you were sex trafficking. last year i went to colombia and vietnam within a month on separate trips. the agent who processed me in vancouver after the vietnam trek had a few focused questions for me. and it was still easier than the reception i got in houston on the way back from bogota even with global entry. |

I'm seriously considering a Caribbean cruise in January or February, and one of the potential spots (Western Caribbean) is Cartagena which I hear is pretty picturesque |

Guys the Avatar ride in Animal kingdom is mind blowing. Genuinely took my breath away.
A fun thing about the hotel I’m staying at in Orlando. It’s right next to where the incoming margaritaville resort will be. I got to explain the Margaritaville project to my in laws. They asked a lot of questions. Most of them “Why?” Only true Parrotheads will get it I guess.

This thing the Charlotte airport does where there are 6 gates jammed together at the end of a hallway and no seating available at the gate is idiotic. I imagine soon my gate will be an app. Thanks, capitalism

i had a very pleasant afternoon at the civil rights museum in atlanta earlier this year. it's done very well. atlanta breakfast club is right across the street.
krog street market and ponce city market are pretty good lunch spots with a variety of choices.

The one time I went our AirBnb was across from this restaurant called the One-Eared Stag and they have an off-menu burger that was incredible and slightly cheaper than their actual schmancy menu items. That’s my one real food rec, although I also dug the hell out of Octane Coffee (also happens to be featured in Edgar Wright’s 3rd best film Baby Driver). |

Oh yeah Krog St Market is worth checking out for lunch if you’re in the area but I think it suffers from the same problem all big ‘markets’ do where gentrification and attempts to modernize leave them as basically glorified food courts.
