little italy is very close to the harbor. i can't remember where we would have had dinner, but vaccaro's is a delicious pastry shop for dessert.
we also ate dinner at some 2nd level seafood place right in inner harbor. idk remember what it was called, it was probably kind of expensive and decently good.

I'm starting to get slightly concerned about being able to fly out of Midway on Thursday. Luckily there's no snow in the forecast the next couple of days, but MAN there have been a lot of cancelled flights.

Worried about my Friday flight to Baltimore since it will be snowing out there... leaving the following day on a cruise, so I don"t have much buffer

I have no clue if they delay or cancel flights when it is only snowing a little bit in Baltimore (in Canada they never do so unless it is a proper snowstorm, but I guess that Baltimore doesn't get to see snow as frequently)

Does anyone have a restaurant to recommend in Baltimore, ideally not far from the Harbour area? There used to be a Chart House in the Inner Harbor, but I think it's closed now. I loved it back when I was in college. I second the Vaccaro's recommendation. Make sure to spend some time in Fell's Point, which is right next to the Inner Harbor. It's a pretty cool neighborhood. Sal's Seafood is a great and it's right in the middle of Fell's Point. Whatever you do, get yourself a crab cake. I haven't had a crab cake anywhere as good as those I had while living in Baltimore. Should be able to find those easily around the Inner Harbor.

Fells Point is exactly the hood that I wanted to explore, after seeing some lovely photos of its colouful houses! Thought it was the Inner Habour but now seeing it is a little beyond. 30-minute walk from our Inner Harbour hotel, so totally doable for my Mom (we can always get a taxi on the way back, after dinner, if she is tired). Just hoping it won't be too frigid on Friday (last I saw was an evening temperature of 17F). But worst come to worst we've got 6 extra hours there on our way back (with suitcases, but those can roll!)

I'm flying out of the States on United and then my connection in Frankfurt is on Lufthansa. What's the likelihood of Lufthansa weighing my carry on when I arrive at the gate?

As you guys know I'm usually into adventure travels (e.g. Mongolia, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan) but man I'm loving that cruise! Definitely not the last one I'll do
Am I getting old?

One of the first things I do after I get my settlement after getting hit by a bus is go on one of those country cruises where you can see like Emmylou Harris perform in a conference room and than go play mini golf and eat at a buffet.

one of those country cruises where you can see like Emmylou Harris perform in a conference room last year, the better half and I saw Ashley Cleveland [the born again gospel version of Emmylou] play in someone's living room near New Buffalo, MI, but the person's house was landlocked.

What's the likelihood of Lufthansa weighing my carry on when I arrive at the gate? extremely low. for a smaller plane like a crj 900, they're looking at carry-on size because the bins are tiny. i have connected to many regional lufthansa flights and never seen them weighing bags. but i have seen them make people check a bag that was too big.

Just helped my parents book a flight on Southwest to come visit in a couple months, and I'm exhausted. It somehow took three separate phone calls.

My experience with old people is that they love Southwest despite it being the most complicated process of everything other than Spirit yet they refuse to learn how it works.

It's a hell of a lot more complicated than south or west separately.

To be fair, they normally drive. I'm pretty sure my dad accidentally clicked on a third party travel website the first two attempts.

How is southwest complicated? there's like 4 options of tickets with wildly different prices, you have to check in 24 hours in advance but not before 24 hours, theres a lineup process look i didnt say i found it complicated im just saying ive spent hours of my life having to explain

I did tell them to just spend the $15 extra bucks for early check-in because I have no faith they would actually check-in before they arrived at Midway.

At least the lineup system is easy.

I usually don’t mind checking in a bit later as long as it’s still early enough I can sit next to my wife if I want to. You’re 40% less likely to die in a crash if you’re in the back half of the plane so I don’t mind that too much unless I’m RIGHT next to the bathroom
