Some of those complaints are dumb - why would you be mad if someone has to use the bathroom on a three hour flight? Maybe don't expect a restful nap in an aisle seat.

Can you not go three hours without peeing?
Edit: I now realize this was an extremely dumb statement

The behavior I find the rudest is when one person in a party purchases early-bird for a Southwest flight and then saves seats for the rest of their traveling companions.

There's a lot of reasons a person reasonably couldn't spend that long without a bathroom visit.

What children aren't unruly on airplanes? I do love the image of a parent going, "Well, Fred's been behaving himself recently, but Charlotte, there's no excusing it, we're going to have to Uber her separately to Reno."

Some parents don't really do much to try to rein in their kids - they just let it all play out. I've only seen that on a couple of occasions, but it's obnoxious. I try to give most parents the benefit of the doubt that they are trying their best.

I can’t imagine parenting a child in general, I imagine it’s much more difficult to explain the loud metal sky tube than a lot of people assume.

Airplane seats are made to recline y’all. If you don’t want someone in front of you reclining book with Spirit. Otherwise get over. It’s not your private jet.

Why don’t the flight staff outright ban it? Becaue you’re supposed to recline. You booked economy, you deal with economy reclining seats.

Especially during takeoff and landing, adults at least know how to make our ears pop if the pressure gets to us, but you can't exactly explain that to a toddler.

Becaue you’re supposed to recline. You booked economy, you deal with economy reclining seats. because planes used to offer more space and there was room to recline. but they've tightened everything as much as they possibly can to get as much money while making you as uncomfortable as possible. in 2019, only recline if no one is sitting behind you.

Was there ever an "ethics of knee-savers" debate on the old board?
for anyone who does not know what these are, they are clips you can purchase and then fasten them to the back of the seat in front of you when you travel so that person can't recline.
they weer *all the rage* with frequent business travelers like 5 years ago and i remember heated debates about whether the public should be able to determine whether someone else can recline when it IS a given option

The seats recline because it's a part of the overall value prop and there are legitimate reasons for health reasons why somehow could use it.
Why do some airlines charge for baggage now? Why do some airlines cancel underbooked flights? Because they can, it's a business. There's a difference between a business offering something and an individual being a total turd.
If I saw an able bodied 20 something on his/her phone scrolling Lolla board posts it would take some effort not to smack them

Nope. If the seats weren’t supposed to recline they’d have disabled the recline feature. I’ll continue to recline whenever I want and as low down as I want. This is a non-issue. I’ll stop voluntarily reclining when annoying children are banned from planes. Until then, I don’t see how it’s my problem. It’s not rude. You’re cheap and paid for a cheap seat in the economy section. You shouldn’t expect room and gracious passengers who accommodate your every whim.

I PRAY someone tries this shit on a Southwest flight I am on No really what's wrong with this If a party wants to board Southwest early / together I would have absolutely no problem with them boarding during the early window. If one person purchases the early bird, thats how many early birds there are. One. If your bag is on an airplane seat regardless of when you boarded, I will almost always ask if you will move it. When people save a seat for an S/O its sort of whatever but I am under the impression jazzpolice is talking about saving a larger party's worth of seats Its like saving your friends a spot on the red line cause you get on at addison and they're getting on at fullerton
