I hate when I'm on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle

Last time I saw someone try to use one of those knee saver things the flight attendant told them they couldn’t then they took it away and stuck it in the flight attendant luggage compartment.

I think its truly evil to recline. I guess I don't find an issue with holding seats as long as you know its not a law or whatever

No really what's wrong with this If a party wants to board Southwest early / together I would have absolutely no problem with them boarding during the early window. If one person purchases the early bird, thats how many early birds there are. One. If your bag is on an airplane seat regardless of when you boarded, I will almost always ask if you will move it. When people save a seat for an S/O its sort of whatever but I am under the impression jazzpolice is talking about saving a larger party's worth of seats Its like saving your friends a spot on the red line cause you get on at addison and they're getting on at fullerton Oh we agree here. I don't think you can save more than one seat.

I PRAY someone tries this shit on a Southwest flight I am on No really what's wrong with this Your essentially letting people cut in line. I mean maybe calling it the "rudest" is a little harsh, more a pet peeve.

I don't mind folks holding one seat. A whole row, or parts of multiple rows, is bad news.
Reclining when the seat behind you is occupied is bad news.
Being mad if the folks in your row have to pee is bad news.
Having children is bad news.

If we are ranking (Lou) Ruuuude plane behavior I gotta say that's pretty low on my list (re: saving one seat on Southwest)

honestly my #1 air travel pet peeve is any attempt to turn the pre-flight safety speech into a form of entertainment, it is almost always excruciating

Yeah I'm talking more large parties. Usually if it is just saving for one person it is just a middle seat anyway.

because planes used to offer more space and there was room to recline. but they've tightened everything as much as they possibly can to get as much money while making you as uncomfortable as possible. in 2019, only recline if no one is sitting behind you. Nope. If the seats weren’t supposed to recline they’d have disabled the recline feature. I’ll continue to recline whenever I want and as low down as I want. This is a non-issue. I’ll stop voluntarily reclining when annoying children are banned from planes. Until then, I don’t see how it’s my problem. It’s not rude. You’re cheap and paid for a cheap seat in the economy section. You shouldn’t expect room and gracious passengers who accommodate your every whim. Why not just piss on the floor its easier than pissing in the toilet.

For real raise your hand if you'd pay extra for a child free flight
*follow up* how much extra?

I can't recall a single instance where a kid on a flight has bothered me. Maybe I've just been lucky.

Trying to imagine a world where I would have a choice of which plane ticket I can buy that isn't 97% determined by what the cheapest flight is.

yeah idk i honestly feel like a loud child is one of the easier things to remedy on a plane, depending on your proximity of course
i would pay extra to not feel like a gross plastic bag after i get off a long flight but i dont think thats in the cards

On my way back from Rome a few years ago, there was a child throwing silverware. Nose cancelling headphones won't protect your face from flying forks.

I can't recall a single instance where a kid on a flight has bothered me. Maybe I've just been lucky. I very much could care less about crying or screaming kid but I've had like a 4 year old kick my seat multiple times and have had parents notice and not do anything and thats infuriating. But would rather have my seat kicked the whole flight than have the person in front of me recline more than the one click slightly less that upright

I hope the next flight BitteOrca is on the person in the next seat brings 2 gigantic Chipotle burritos, proceeds to pass noxious gas for the next 2 hours and they say, "Not my problem I paid for this seat!"

I've encountered way more asshole adults on a plane than asshole children.

I was very much in this camp but a pair of noise reduction headphones helped a surprising amount so however much those cost Do they help with kicking? planes are so much in the category of "i am never seeing these people again" that i will 100% say stuff about this if you can't get your kid to stop crying that sucks and i get it. if you can't get your kid to stop kicking my seat, its your problem.

Like I'd much rather have a screaming kid in front of me than an adult woman who thinks it's cool to take off her shoes and her socks like she's in her gd living room.
