And I would like to reiterate that take. Thank you for bringing it back up for a whole new page.

i would like to utilize this new page to point out that while i may detest children as a whole, i do not condone pushing or kicking any ever.

For real raise your hand if you'd pay extra for a child free flight *follow up* how much extra? Only perhaps for a long overnight flight e.g. to Australia. Even then I found recently some great earplugs that block a shitload of noise (including my Mom's loud snoring right now on this cruise)...

Montreal is a very cool city. Definitely set aside some time to hike to the top of Mount Royal Park. It's a beautiful view.

Also cosigned. While you're up there, go find Leonard Cohen's grave.
The best thing I ate there was kouign-amann from Au Patisserie Kouign Amann in the Plateau neighborhood. Get there early and eat it warm, it's a revelation.
I also recommend pretending like you speak French even though most everyone speaks English.
Do not eat the calf's brain pot pie at Au Pied de Cochon. That I cannot recommend.

Soooooo if anyone had any plans to drive north on LSD anytime soon I might reconsider those plans. This looks like something that will not be fixed quickly. So scary.

Local bus #11 takes you from Kouing Aman (and more generally cool Avenue Mont Royal/Plateau Mont Royal) to the top of Mont Royal in like 15 mins Also recommend the giant Leonard Cohen mural on Crescent Street (next to the also awesome Musee des Beaux Arts) And beside hip Plateau Mont Royal, you won't want to miss the historic Old Port/town

Also going to Maine in July to meet the parents 😳

I've got to do a sales pitch for NOLA, but right now we're considering it against Vancouver, Austin and San Francisco. Can't really knock any of those options.
We have a staycation coming up next month to test whether #babbyscoots will be good with the grandparents, and then we can start planning. Eeeeeee.

Same. Boston in March and Montreal in September. My goal this year was to do more North American cities in lieu of a big international trip like I've done the past two years. Still haven't been to Austin, Seattle (with the exception of one day for an interview), and Portland which are like the three cities I have a high priority of going to. My friend is getting married next year in Seattle and I'll be at that wedding so going to hold off but trying to decide where to go in like May/June and I'm thinking Austin. Other cities to consider that aren't as high of a priority are like Minneapolis, DC, Savannah, and Philadelphia. Also been toying with Mexico City. I've heard amazing things but would probably hold off until like November for that. Anyone ever been?
edi: actually looks like mexico city doesn't get too hot??

I'd love to go to Mexico City. Def put that and Portland at the top of your list.
I'm not going anywhere for five months, but that ain't stopping me from dreaming and doing a ton of research.
