Same. Boston in March and Montreal in September. My goal this year was to do more North American cities in lieu of a big international trip like I've done the past two years. Still haven't been to Austin, Seattle (with the exception of one day for an interview), and Portland which are like the three cities I have a high priority of going to. My friend is getting married next year in Seattle and I'll be at that wedding so going to hold off but trying to decide where to go in like May/June and I'm thinking Austin. Other cities to consider that aren't as high of a priority are like Minneapolis, DC, Savannah, and Philadelphia. Also been toying with Mexico City. I've heard amazing things but would probably hold off until like November for that. Anyone ever been? edi: actually looks like mexico city doesn't get too hot?? i've been to mexico city but it was back in the mid-80s which means i don't remember all the details other than it was my first earthquake (a small one, but an eq nonetheless), we ate what we thought were stringy chicken enchiladas but they told us after the meal they ran out of chicken so they used iguana, traffic was insane, there was some demonstration at the zocalo main square and military people with machine guns everywhere, we went to the pyramids at teotihuacan and i do remember that pretty well and it was fantastic going up to the tops of the pyramid of the sun and moon. but then we couldn't walk down into the pyramid of the sun because a week earlier an archaeologist had disappeared down there. but then a guy was walking around at the top hawking some obsidian sculpture stuff.

Also cosigned. While you're up there, go find Leonard Cohen's grave. The best thing I ate there was kouign-amann from Au Patisserie Kouign Amann in the Plateau neighborhood. Get there early and eat it warm, it's a revelation. I also recommend pretending like you speak French even though most everyone speaks English. Do not eat the calf's brain pot pie at Au Pied de Cochon. That I cannot recommend. Been looking at pictures of food here for the past 20 minutes. Very excited. My friends might not want to drop that much but I'll go solo if I have to.

yeah this was one of my friend's responses when I sent him the menu him: I don’t know if the other guys are foodies, but none of that sounds good to me man Chicken liver mousse??? Why?!?
me: dude you are in montreal, be adventurous
him: Where are the chicken nuggets?!? I don’t know how you don’t understand this... I’m not adventurous with my food Just because I don’t want to eat bone marrow, doesn’t mean I’m not adventurous i never have this problem when i travel solo

We went to La Banquise, too. T'was very good.
Schwartz's Deli always had a tour bus outside of it, so we didn't bother.

Always a concern when traveling if a place that is hyped up like that matches the hype. Was there a long wait for La Banquise? I feel like we're going to end up there at 2 am so probably not a concern but idk.

I think we waited 20 minutes at around 8pm, but it was only two of us. There were some larger groups that were queued when we sat down that were still outside as we were leaving.
